From His heart to yours...
How many times have we felt forsaken by God? We watch other peoples prayers get answered; but we still sit within the muck and mire of our own despair; wondering if we just might not be good enough for God.
As moments pass...we begin to feel as if God has turned His face from us; then we begin to wonder how much longer He will keep us, in these deep moments of sorrow...a sorrow that takes hold of the heart and brings it so low; that we begin to feel as if we will never rise again.
As we sit back and watch the enemy have his way with us; we begin to believe that God just might not be strong enough, to overcome the moments that have brought us so low.
As the rope of hope has now become a thread that could break any moment; we cry out to God once more, as we try to convince Him, of what could go wrong, if He doesn't come at that very moment to rescue us.
We seem to know in our hearts that we would be doomed to fall into a pit of total destruction; but Lord, how will others see you and the power that is contained within you, if the enemy wins this battle that has been raging within us for so long?
Just as our heads rise, for one last time; our thoughts begin to go beyond the defeat that is attempting to take us down, as our thoughts are taken back to an unfailing love...a love that gave its all, to rescue us from moments such as these.
No longer do we feel distant from God; for the thoughts of hope that have now replaced the thoughts of defeat are giving us a reason to rejoice...even in the midst of what we are facing; because our eyes have been opened to the truth and we are no longer blinded by the affliction that once attempted to take us down for good...and the hope that has now strengthened the thread we once clung to; is the thought that we are already rescued...for our Lord has never been a God of defeat...for we were rescued at the cross...and in His time, we will be made completely whole.
