Hello everyone! Happy Friday…and a big welcome to “A New Day of New Hope Blog”…through the Risen Hope Ministries! Nice to have you here today…and my prayer for you; is that you will truly come to see God, as the greatest thing in your life!

Almost 50 years ago, I was preparing my mind, for the first of 21 major knee operations. Before going to the hospital, I was given a cassette player and the first tape I bought for this player was by a group called the Renaissance. Their group was made up of two brothers and a sister…and never did I realize it…until just recently; that their songs would continually be of inspiration to my heart.

When I think back to that first surgery…I was only in my very early teens and had never been admitted previously to a hospital; so this was a brand new experience for me. When my mother and I arrived at the hospital…I remember being taken for my first wheelchair ride…on one of those old high top caned seat wheelchairs. I guess you can pretty much figure out my age by now…lol!

Anyways…the next morning, the nurse came in and woke me up and got me ready for a shower and then it was time to shave my leg…for the very first time ever. After getting all prepped and ready to go into surgery; I was wheeled down into pre-op. One thing I remember…after being wheeled down into pre-op; was how the nurses had all the surgical patients lined up in the room…before taking us into surgery.

Little did I know that God was already beginning to work in and through me, as I was wheeled next to a young girl, who was about to have her tonsils out. As I lay next to her…she began to cry…and even in the midst of my own nervousness; I felt the need to reach out to her. She told me that she was afraid and that she wanted to see her parents. Somehow…in the midst of my own feelings that day, I began to comfort her and hold her hand…telling her that I would be there for her, until we went into surgery. As we lay there together, she began to calm down, as we continued to talk and comfort one another. Within a short time after that; the nurses began to call out our last names and the number, for the operating room we would be in…and as we both were wheeled away…we held tightly to each other, until our hands slipped apart.

Now, as I look back on these moments…I realize…more and more, as to how much I have walked through…even to this very day; but my God has been with me all the way…and He continues to use these long and drawn out years of pain and heartache, for his honor and glory. I’ll tell you…there are not enough words of thanks, for all He has walked me through!

No matter what we walk through in life; we have the assurance that God will never leave us or forsake us. Right now…maybe you are facing some uncertain times in your own life and you don’t know how you are going to make it through. May I encourage you, by saying…that I do know a God, who has walked me through surgeries…pain…heartache and great loss…and has never once let me down…and one thing I know…if He’s been there for me; then He will be there for you too!

We may not always understand the reasoning, for these moments of suffering; but sometimes, all we need to know; is that someone is there for us…someone, who will hold our hand and carry us through moments that we just can’t face on our own…and the only One I know, who can do all of that and much more; is Jesus Christ!

Well…I sure have enjoyed this week with you…and I hope that you will come back this weekend, to Sunday Inspiration; as I will be sharing a beautiful God inspired writing, titled…“A Love that will Never Let Go.” For now…have a great day…take care and I will hope to be back with you on Monday morning! God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
