Hello everyone…”Happy Friday”…and a big welcome to “A New Day of New Hope Blog”…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I hope that your day is off to a great start…and just think; we have arrived to the end of another week! As you begin your walk through this brand new day; I pray that you will truly feel the presence of God close by!
You know…there can be days…especially at the end of the week, when we feel as if we have nothing more to give. As our thoughts get caught up in every detail of the week and what took place; we find ourselves drifting, into what seems to be another world; where all we find ourselves focusing on; is the tiredness that’s attempting to take over our minds and bodies.
Many times, I experience these feelings, as the week comes to an end; but one thing God has shown me; is to get off that detour road of thinking and get back on the main drag…the one that helps us focus on how far God has brought us, rather than what we have already been through.
You know…Satan not only longs to weaken us; but I believe that it’s his desire to also remind us of our weaknesses; so in that way, he can get our minds and thoughts deeply embedded in the negativity of it all, which only ends up bringing us lower; then where we once were. For instance…if we’ve had a rough day or week; then he may try to get us to rehash these moments…over and over within our thoughts, which only keeps our focus on the tragedy, rather than the triumph over the tragedy.
In my own personal life; I can experience nights, when I’m awake on the hour, as pain racks my body. By time morning arrives…the symptoms that are pointing my thoughts to what just happened, can attempt to be an ongoing thought that never finds its end. For each yawn or weak moment in my body, I only seem to be reminded of a sleepless night…and if the thoughts keep coming; then before I know it, I can get caught up in this web of deceit that Satan is using against me, as a means of taking me out of commission with God.
As we end each week; we need to focus on all that God has brought us through, rather than what has brought us down. When we can count our blessings, rather than the tragedies that took place throughout the week; then we will feel more uplifted and closer to God, rather than every single thing that went wrong throughout the week.
In James 4:8a, we read… “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” If we want to remain distant, from the web that Satan only longs to get us caught up in from the week; then we need to leave all the negative thoughts behind and start thriving on the thoughts that can draw us closer to God. What a way, to not only end a week; but begin another new week. Also…to add to what I already said…we also need to remember that the more we thrive on the past days of failure and difficulties; that will only make us even more distant; from the God we truly need the most within our lives.
As you end your week…look to the moments, when God was truly there for you…the moments, when His strength overrode your weak moments…and even more; focus on every blessing, rather than every moment that attempted to bring you low. This has truly brought some good thoughts to me today, as I hope it did the same for you! Please take care…have a great Friday…and I will hope to see you again on Monday! God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
