Hello everyone…and a “Happy Monday” to you! Welcome today, to “A New Day of New Hope Blog”…thru the Risen Hope Ministries! Well…here we go again…another week of pressing on! I pray that we will truly find ourselves deeply connected with the One, who can give us strength and the will to press on; no matter what may come our way throughout this week ahead!
Yesterday…after taking a 3 hour nap, I was getting around for the evening…and for some reason, my mind was going back to a particular time, when I had returned home. After arriving…my husband and I had some time to kill; so we went for a drive through the old neighborhood that I grew up in.
After driving by the house, where I grew up; I noticed that one of my old neighbors were still living there; so we stopped in to visit them for a while. They were so surprised to see me again…as I was just as happy and surprised to see them!
When I was younger; they had a son who liked to ride bikes with me…that is before I could no longer ride a bike, due to my knee problems. Anyways…I remember one time, when we had rode our bikes back to the end of this one road in the subdivision and as we walked over to a water hole, where we were collecting pollywogs…Bobby told me that he loved me. We were so young then; but I had to gently break the news that I wasn’t in love with him. I think that this was one of the times I broke someone’s heart because he rode his bike off quickly, as I stood there feeling so badly for him.
Anyways, back to the story…after sitting and visiting with our neighbors for a while; they said that Bobby was in town and so they called him…and within a short time, he was walking through the door. I barely recognized him…as he was so much more grown up! In fact, the only way I knew that he was a part of that family; was because he looked so much like his older brother, when he was younger.
As we began to visit and share our lives with each other; I came to see that he had also dealt with depression in his life…and through his own life experiences; God had now called him to reach out to young people, as he was now a youth pastor. Somehow I knew he would grow up to be someone special in the eyes of God because many times, while riding our bikes together, he would always have his Bible with him.
You know…we don’t always know what path God may take us down. I know that when I was younger; I thought that I would be a nurse to the mission field…and even though that was a good thought…that wasn’t God’s plan or desire for my life.
One thing I’ve come to truly see, in every aspect of my life; is to make sure I always follow God’s lead…because let’s face it, we don’t know the way. Only God knows what direction He longs to take us in; so even as you begin this new week…look for the path, in which God longs for you to walk down…and I know one thing…you will never regret it!
Well…time for me to begin another new week of service for God! I pray that you will have a great day...following in the footsteps, of the One, who can truly lead you to His very best for your life! Take care and I will hope to be back with you again tomorrow! God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
