Hello everyone…Happy Thursday…and a big, big welcome to “A New Day of New Hope Blog!” I am so glad that you came for a visit today…and my prayer for you; is that your day will truly be blessed from above!
Well…yesterday, I took a couple extra hours out of my schedule, to clean an office that was in need of a deep cleaning. You should have seen me…first, I started near the window. I had this great idea of layering some lace curtains I had put away; but I had to figure out, as to how I was going to get up on the daybed, to hang them. When a person has a stiff knee, with a rod in their leg…you don’t just step up and say… “Here I am!”
After thinking over the situation, I decided to get a kitchen chair…with arms on the side of it, as a means of hoisting me up near the bed. Once I got up on the chair, I then moved my legs over onto the bed. Good thinking…huh?
After standing up on the bed…I was able to layer the curtains and even do a little dusting around the window. From there, I decided that I was finished and it was now time to come down off the daybed. As I turned around toward the chair, I realized that it wasn’t going to be as easy to get down, as it was to get up there; so I stopped and said a little prayer that went like this… “Lord, if you get me off this bed and chair…I promise to not come up here again!” Within a few minutes, I quickly aimed my arms in the direction of the back of the chair…and before I knew it, I was safely down on the floor…praise God!
One thing God has taught me over the years; is to pursue…pursue…and pursue! I have come to truly see that when there’s a will or desire to achieve something…there’s always a way! How many times do we say…“I can’t”…before we are willing to say…“I’ll try?”
I think that one of the reasons why I’m able to keep pressing on; is because I choose to not remain in the muck and mire, of my despair. I will never forget the endless years of pain…surgeries and brokenness in my life…and one thing that I can truly say to you today; is that these were actually the moments that God used to keep nudging me along through life. I’m not saying that it was always easy…because it wasn’t; but what I’ve learned through it all has made me into who I am today…and that is exactly how God works!
You know…one thing I’ve learned not to do; is to include “I can’t” into my vocabulary…because these two words are what stops us in our tracks and keeps us from walking forward, into the best that God longs to give us…through the trial.
Today, you may be facing something in your life that just seems so overwhelming. You may feel as if it’s almost impossible, for you to take one more step forward; but may I encourage you to keep pursuing what God longs to reveal to you…through these difficult times. Remember one thing…there is no rainbow without the storm and there is no night without the day. Everything serves a purpose and we will never truly know the purpose God has behind each storm in our lives; if we only choose to stand out in the rain.
Well…once more, I have truly enjoyed this time with you! I hope you will come back tomorrow, as I share more words and thoughts of hope…from my heart to yours! Take care and God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
