Do we realize that there is a place, where we can meet heart to heart with God…a place where evil cannot interfere nor have any control over the power that surrounds us? In Hebrews 4:16, we read…“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace; that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
How are we approaching God’s presence during the difficult times? Do we enter His presence on tip toes, while we allow fear and unbelief to take over the moments, when we should have confidence…knowing that this is a place where we can receive from God; the things that He longs so much to give us? Even though we should have reverence, while standing in the presence of God; we should never fear His power but instead, we should see Him as a close friend…a friend that is more than willing to bow down to our level and hear our deepest cry for help.
I remember a time in my life, when my circumstances were allowing me to feel alone and abandoned in life. One day, as I looked for God, deep within my heart, He showed me how close He could really be, at the time when I needed a friend the most. Within my mind’s eye, I began to see a picture of God sitting with me…within the heart. It seemed that all He wanted to do was to listen to what was on my mind; so from there, I began to open myself up to Him and from that day on…I knew that I would never be alone again.
Why do we treat God in some pomp and circumstance way, when all He longs to do, is be the closest friend we could ever have? Have we lost confidence in our God today? Yes…we must humbly enter His presence but not in a way, where we fear His presence and lack confidence in what He can do. When we are willing to approach God…knowing that He is a god that has the power and resources, to do all things; then we will find His love, mercy and most of all, His grace to help in time of need.
