Isn’t it amazing how our circumstances can dictate words that attempt to convince us that they are going to lead us over a cliff of destruction? Why do we look more deeply into the eyes of our problems, rather than looking at how God is sustaining us through the problem? In II Corinthians 4:8-9, we read… “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; (9) persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
Jesus never said that life would be easy; so why are we expecting our lives to be completely free from these problems that come our way? Is it because we’re Christians and we expect to automatically be free from problems? Instead of focusing on these thoughts; maybe we should take a look, into how God is sustaining us through these difficult times. Even though we know that Jesus has the power to rid us of problems; could it be that maybe He might be allowing them into our lives, as a means of revealing His great and awesome power to us?
Today, we may feel as though we will never get through the difficult times that stand before us but if we were to slow down…take a deep breath and see where we are at the time; we would see that we are making it; despite the overwhelming moments we’re going through. We may have moments when we feel hard pressed and crushed by the weight of the problem and there may even be times when we feel as though a bolt of lightning has struck us to the ground but even through these overwhelming moments, we are still moving ahead. It may seem as though we are taking baby steps but that’s alright because the important thing to remember is that we are still pressing on and as we continue to take…what seems to be baby steps; we will discover that we can be strengthened and led by the hand of the One, who can walk us through these fiery trials.
