One verse in the Bible that has always been very special to me; is in Job 1:12…and we read… “And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.”
In this first chapter of Job; God and Satan are having a conversation about Job. Satan is letting God know that Job is a good and upright man because of the hedge of protection that God has placed around him; but then he goes on to say, in verse 11… “But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.”…so God agreed to give Job over to Satan; but God says in verse 12… “…only upon himself put not forth thine hand,” which meant that Satan could test Job; but God was not allowing him, to do anything that would harm Job.
Do we stop to think, on how God truly has the control stick in hand, to our lives? In other words…even though God may allow the difficult moments to enter our lives; to the place where he allows Satan to test us…God still has those boundary lines up…where Satan cannot cross and lead us to a place of total destruction.
I remember many times in my life, when I felt as though evil had so much control over my circumstances; but through time…God showed me that even though He was allowing these moments in my life…they were for a reason…and that reason was to make me stronger…so what Satan thought would defeat me…these moments in my life were actually building me up.
No matter what you’re facing today…don’t allow evil to abuse you through a trying circumstance; but rather, look to God and see how these difficult moments can be turned around and used within your life. When we can see our circumstances in this way; then evil will become powerless, while losing out in the end!!
