"I waited patiently for God to help me; then he listened and heard my cry. (2) He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along. (3) He has given me a new song to sing, of praises to our God. Now many will hear of the glorious things he did for me, and stand in awe before the Lord, and put their trust in him." Psalm 40:1-3
"Yes, the Lord hears the good man when he calls to him for help and saves him out of all his troubles. (19) The good man does not escape all troubles—he has them too. But the Lord helps him in each and every one." Psalm 34:17,19
Sometimes I think that God longs for us to wait patiently for Him to act on our problem, rather than quickly resolving the problem; so that we will learn how to lean on Him. I know from experience; that the first thing that can come to a troubled mind; is to just want to escape these awful moments but that isn't how it works. I believe that God longs for us to experience a moment that will eventually become deeply embedded within the heart...a moment that we will always have to hold to, as a reminder that He is more than capable of helping us through other difficult moments that may arise down the road.
You know...our problems can make us feel as though we are stuck in the mud and even though it may be very difficult for us to come out of these situations; God does have the strength and power to lift us from these moments that seem impossible to us but we must wait on Him, rather than always trying to figure a way out on our own. Jesus never said that we wouldn't experience troubles in this life but one thing He did promise us and that is that He would be there to gently lift us from these moments...that is if we are willing to let go and allow Him to help us.
