Good evening everyone! It’s so nice to have you back with me…here at the “Heart to Heart Blog!” I hope you’ve had a good day and most of all, I hope you experienced God in your day! I know that when I experience God…even in the littlest way; that those feelings seem to give me a little ump in my day!
Well…I’m just sitting here…relaxing after a very busy day! My kind hearted husband is giving me another break off my feet, by doing the dishes, while I visit with you tonight. What a day it’s been…but a good one!
Again…I started my day out with God…and believe me when I say; that there is a big difference, when we start our day out with God, rather than when we don’t. You know…there was a time…before I took a week off recently; where I got caught up in my work…to the place where I felt like I didn’t have enough time in my morning, to spend time with God; so I would do it later in my evening; but over time, I came to see that just like breakfast…we need something to energize us and get us going thru our day. After taking some time off a while back…things changed between God and me and now I’m loving the time I spend with Him and the feelings I am now experiencing, after doing so.
Once I finished spending time with God, it was once more time to enter the kitchen and prep something for dinner tonight. I would say that there are times, when I truly appreciate a home office because I can do things in my kitchen or in other places of the house and at the same time, do some work online.
Anyways…back to the kitchen! Today, I had some leftover turkey that I thawed out, from Thanksgiving Day and I decided to do one of those comfort food recipes; so I made turkey and gravy, with mixed vegetables and poured it over homemade biscuits. Wow…was that ever good tonight! The way it turned out; made it taste like a turkey pot pie kind of thing…if that makes any sense. Also, this morning, I baked one final batch of Christmas cookies, which are called “Thumbprint Cookies.” This recipe is kind of similar to a butter cookie. After forming the dough into balls and placing them on a cookie sheet; I then place an indention into the cookie and filled the cookie with jelly and bake them. I’ve always wanted to make these; but never really have; so today I made them and tonight, my husband and I sampled one at dinner and wow…they are good! So as you can see…Diane’s country kitchen was full of good smells today!
After leaving the kitchen and having lunch, it was time to go and do some serious work in the office. Today, it seemed like I was doing a mixed bag of everything, along with another busy day on Twitter. God has not only given me a gift to write; but that gift He has given me, has now overflowed into other things…like graphic quotes. One thing I like about working with God; is that I can actually hear His voice within my spirit…not like talking with other people…but that still small voice that comes to those, who are open to His presence. I can truly say to you tonight; that if I never heard that still small voice within me; then there would be no words to write and no graphic quotes to design. What a God…I love Him so!!
You know…it’s so easy to get caught up into life and even Christmas right now; that we completely bypass the One, who longs to be everything for us…and once we have bypassed God; then we have also bypassed the words that He longs to share with us, thru that still small voice. I know because I used to do that a lot in my life…but no more. It’s seems like every day, I long to hear that voice; that encourages me and sooths the broken moments that come into my life.
Today, we need to start taking some time out of our busy schedules, to just sit quietly before a God, who longs to relate to us. I know that once we are open to that still small voice; that we will never be the same again…as we begin to aim our thoughts and time, away from the busyness of life, to enter the presence of a loving and powerful God!
Well…I need to go for now, as I have a logo to design for the website, before I go to bed. Again, if you would like to read my postings on Twitter…you don’t need to be on Twitter to be blessed. Just visit the Risen Hope Ministries Twitter page here on the website!
Until tomorrow night, I pray that you will have a great night and that you will truly feel the peaceful presence, of a loving and caring God…surrounding you tonight as you rest! Have a great Thursday and I’ll look forward to sharing my day with you…along with the goodness of a great…loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings on your night!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
