Heart to Heart Blog with Diane K Hiltz Chamberlain
Good evening everyone…I’m back! I hope you’ve had a nice weekend! I had a great Saturday…watching Christmas DVD’s and resting in the afternoon…and in the evening, I watched White Christmas, which is one of my very favorites!

You know…God knows just what we need and when we need it and I’m so glad that He’s there, to take care of me, in such a loving and caring way! I think that if we could look beyond what we go thru in life, to see how He is looking out for our good; then we would have a reason to rejoice, in the midst of it all.

Tonight, I would like to just share my heart with you…this heart that God has given to me, as a very special gift from Him. I don’t know about you; but lately, I have found it so difficult to live in a world, where all I see is people suffering, while we live in the midst of an uncaring and unloving generation of people. Sometimes, I just sit and say to God… “Why Lord…why must we have to live in a world like this, when you are God?”

Lately, God has been reminding me; that He knows what He’s doing…for He has had these moments planned for a long time. I guess we just sometimes need to look beyond the bad things in this world and anticipate God’s next move and where He is leading us from here.

You know…it’s just being human; that causes us to think in this way. I mean, when we see what is on the news, we automatically think that God should just reach down from the heavens and fix it…never really thinking that each thing that takes place during these times; is going to complete the master plan; that will lead us closer and closer to His return.

Tonight, God is taking me to a few Bible verses in 2 Timothy 3:2-5, which says… “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous,
rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”…and now, we are seeing these things come to pass.

I remember a time, when I was a teenager and there seem to be so much care for others, compared to what I see now. People helped others in ways that held meaning and a heart of love for others; but now, this world seems to be a hard, cold and calloused world…a world that cares more about itself; then others around them.

During this Christmas time, there is one thing that I’ve witnessed a lot of, while being online…and that is people who promote God but follow after the ways of the world. No one is perfect but we must take hold of the fact; that our Lord will soon be here, to gather those together, who have not only become a Christian; but have also lived the Christian life.

I remember a time in my life, when I would celebrate the Lord’s birth…or should I say…fit Him in, where it was convenient for me. Since I have come to truly know Jesus in my life…He is all that matters…and in the midst of this cold and calloused world, I long to let His light shine; that others may find Him, in the way that I have.

Today…as we prepare to celebrate Christmas, can we say that we are truly Christians…or is it that we just fit Him into our lives, where there is room? I don’t know about you…but the most important thing in my life right now; is to be ready…because when Jesus comes, I want to be found faithful in His eyes…just as He has been so faithful to me.

People…we need to take this serious! Is it that we are just wearing a sign on our foreheads that says that we are a Christian or do our lives truly reflect Christ? We need to remember that Christianity isn’t a ticket that gives us free entry into heaven. Are we willing to sacrifice ourselves, for the One who sacrificed so much for us?

As I close this time with you, I would encourage you to give all of yourself to Jesus this Christmas! Let this be your gift to Him, as we celebrate His birthday.

Well…it’s been another great day with God; but now I need to go and finish my day off and relax…before starting another new week with God. I hope that you have enjoyed this time together! Take care and may you truly feel the loving arms of God’s peace around you tonight, as you rest! Also…don’t forget to come back tomorrow night and join me, as I share another day with you, along with the goodness of a great…loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings on your night!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
