Good evening everyone! Welcome tonight, to the Heart to Heart Blog! I am so happy to have you with me…and if you haven’t noticed, I’ve been writing a little earlier. You see…I live on the west coast and I tend to forget that there are other states ahead of me in time…so I thought that it would be easier on all of us, if I was to begin a little earlier.
Anyways…I am just sitting here tonight…enjoying my evening, with a little music, after an afternoon of work; then I will have dinner pretty much ready for me tonight, since we are having some Christmas dinner leftovers, which my husband and I just love! Tonight, its turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and a great vegetable…candied carrots. For those of you, who have never had candied carrots…you are missing out on something! I actually think that this simple recipe is a mid-west dish…since I actually come from the state of Michigan. Anyways…it’s a very simple recipe, where you cut up fresh carrots and lightly boil them, until they are tender; then you drain them and add brown sugar, butter and salt and pepper to them and let them slowly simmer, until the carrots become coated with the brown sugar and butter. As for the amount of brown sugar…it depends on how many carrots you are cooking. I usually put in 3-4 serving tablespoons; but you can use whatever you would like. Anyways, I hope you will try them!
By the way…before I forget, I have posted a brand new 4-5 minute audio word of encouragement, on one of my newest pages…“Inspiration for the Heart.” I’ve actually got it set up for tomorrow; but please feel free to check it out here, if you would like to listen to it this evening! I think you will enjoy it, as I share a special word of encouragement…as we prepare to enter a brand New Year.
What a beautiful night it is, as I’m looking out my window! We have this tall yard light in our backyard…in the midst of the trees, which are bare of course and when it shines down on the yard, it just makes the snow glisten and glow, in the midst of all the darkness. When I think on this…I also think on the light that comes, from the presence of a powerful God.
You know…a while back, I was standing in the midst of a dark circumstance…and as I called out to Jesus for help; His presence began to walk into the midst of that darkness and as I sat in the light of His presence, I could see within my mind’s eye; that His presence had become a place of refuge for me, while the darkness that surrounded that place of refuge, had become powerless, in the presence of God.
What hope we have…that even in the midst of a dark and dismal moment; the light of God’s presence alone can step in and bring relief and become a safe haven; that can shelter us and protect us, from the storms that evil sends our way. Praise Him!! No matter what you may be facing today…call out to Jesus and He will step into your moment of darkness and bring to you, the relief you need, until your storm passes by.
Well…time for me to go…but I’ve really enjoyed our visit tonight! I pray that you will have a good night of rest and that the light of God’s holy presence will surround you and bring comfort to you, throughout your night!
Take care and I hope to see you again tomorrow evening, as I share another day with you, along with the goodness of a great…loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings on your night!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
