Happy Thanksgiving!

11/22/2017

Heart to Heart Blog with Diane K Hiltz Chamberlain
Good evening everyone! I hope that you have had a nice day and before I forget...I would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm a little late tonight, due to a very busy day; but I have so much to be thankful for! In fact, I have truly learned a lot in my day; that will help me to not take life for granted.
As I was getting up and around this morning, my husband and I had made plans to do some grocery shopping and then I would start working on our Thanksgiving dinner. As I walked out of my office...after spending time alone with God, I was headed for the garage and then my husband walked in the door and said that our pickup wasn't running. We tried everything we could think of to get the truck running but it just never happened; so we both went back inside and began to think on what we could do to get some help. Either people we knew were at work or the ideas just weren't going to work out. Just as I was about to give up and put the shopping off, I felt God leading me to go next door and talk with our neighbor...to see if they could help us.  I guess you should know first; that there hasn't been much communication between them and us. The wife is someone we have known for quite some time. In fact, she actually came to know the Lord and then Satan seemed to step in and before we knew it, she was caught up in a relationship, with a guy who didn't want anything to do with God...in fact, he made that very clear to my husband.
Anyways...as I rang the doorbell, I was surprised to see her answer the door. In fact, she even invited me in and from there, we had the best talk...a talk that we hadn't had for quite some time. After visiting for about an hour, I decided to go back home and see if we could find another solution to our problem, since our neighbor was ill and couldn't leave her home.
After returning back to my husband, we sat in the living room and began to think once more, on what we could do, to get to the grocery store. As we were sitting there visiting...a knock came to the door and our neighbor lady had come over for a minute, to let us know that her and her husband wanted us to use their SUV. We were so surprised and it seemed like from there...God was truly at work, as we all were enjoying each other's company.
As I sit here tonight...the shopping is done and I'm still praying that God will continue to help bring our neighbors back to Him. The truck still isn't running and we don't know what purpose God has for that; but one thing I know...if the truck would have been running; then we would have gone on our merry way...never having those talks with our neighbors; so you see...God does have a plan and a purpose for everything.
As I was doing some last minute preparations for Thanksgiving tonight, I was talking with God and I told Him that I don't know why He has allowed this problem with our truck; but that I would be anticipating His next move. You know...one thing I've been reminded of today; is how we take the little things for granted...like having a vehicle. Seems like we become so caught up in everything; that we don't take the time to be thankful and truly appreciate what God has blessed us with. There's one thing I can say tonight and that is when I was riding in our neighbor's SUV and when I was watching people walking to the stores, I was thanking God in my heart; that I have Him in my life, to always take care of me. What a God!
Well...it's getting late, so I will let you go for now. I truly hope and pray that you will have a very special Thanksgiving! My prayer tonight; is that we will not only be thankful on Thanksgiving...but every single day of our lives.
God bless & Happy Thanksgiving!
Blessings on your night!
It's Always & Only Because of Him...Diane
