Good evening everyone! Welcome tonight, to the Heart to Heart Blog! I hope your Friday was a good one! Actually…mine was too! Let me tell you all about it!
This morning…as the alarm rang loudly; I knew it was time to face the day. You know…how is it that we seem to lose steam, as we get to the end of the week? After all, we sleep every night and should be rested for another day; but yet, we still have days, when we wonder what happened to our energy…and this was my day for that.
Even though I was struggling to get out of bed and walk thru the house, I was determined to face the day and what was awaiting me, which was house cleaning. Sometimes I wonder if we are tired on some days, more than others because maybe we have talked ourselves into feeling that way, since we just may have something to do for the day; that we either struggle to do…or just don’t want to do at all.
Anyways, after finishing my time with God this morning, I had a talk with Him…before leaving my office and I said…”You know what Lord; I am really going to need your strength today, as I have a full day of things to catch up with around the house.
As I left my office, I truly believed that God was going to answer my prayer and give me His strength…after all; it would have to be His strength that would get me thru the day…because I absolutely had nothing more to give of myself.
You know…it seemed like the minute I hit the hallway…outside my office, I began to feel different and a smile came to my heart and I actually felt ready to begin my day. The first chore of the day was to prep something for dinner this evening…and I’ll have to tell you; it seemed like I had just entered the kitchen and before I knew it, I found myself leaving it, to water some plants, which was a good sign; that the day was off to a good start.
After watering the plants in the sink, I decided to attack the office and for some reason; I seem to be in that room longer; then any other room in the house. I wonder why? One thing I can tell you…if my big waste basket is full; then that’s a sign of a very busy week; but if it isn’t that full; then I have no explanation for that, if you know what I mean…lol.
You know…I’d like to tell you a little bit about my office because I have designed this space to be handicapable, which means…I may be handicap…but I still choose to press on. Anyways, in my office, I have a nice big hutch desk…but I don’t sit at it because I have a rod in my right leg and it’s very uncomfortable for me; so I have made it into counter space, for whatever I need it for. The office chair I would’ve used with the desk; is now a nice chair for my husband to sit on, when he comes into the office for a visit. Keith likes to see what I’m up to, from time to time and he even enjoys watching me design my graphic quotes, while also listening to my nightly writings.
Next…I need to tell you about the space where I work, which is what one of my photos says on the wall… “This is my happy place!” Actually, this is where I spend all my time with God. Due to my legs, I can no longer sit at a table or desk; so I sit on a daybed, with big pillows behind me. I have a laptop table, with my laptop on it and all around me; is what has become my handicapable part of the office.
Off to the right side of my daybed, I have a side table, where I have a couple plants, which I watered today, along with a container for pencils, pens, etc… I also keep my phone on this table, along with stacks of paper…some of which I have written words that God has laid upon my heart, for a specific moment in time. Then I have something on the table; that means so much to me…the study Bible, which actually became my survival manual, while facing some very, very difficult times in my life. It’s now falling apart; but as long as I can still read it…it will remain there.
Now to the left of me, I have a big window; that I truly enjoy looking out of, while I work. I also have a big Rolodex hooked to the wall, which makes it very handy, when I need a phone number or password. Then I have a shelf, which my father actually made before he passed away and I keep all kinds of little office things on there…along with a salt lamp, which brightens my evenings. They say that salt lamps help with arthritis; so I’m trying it out and if not…then I have a beautiful amber light to enjoy.
Ok…the final place I’d to take you to in my office, is actually at the foot of my daybed. This is my wall, where I truly connect with God. I have several photos, where I’ve added writings; that God gave me, while coming out of some very difficult moments and these photos are always a reminder to me; that God is truly a faithful God, who stands on every promise He makes. I’ve also received a couple awards for my writings and I also have a book signing photo up there. When I look at every one of these photos; they all seem to tell a story, of a powerful God, who has brought me so far in my life.
Well…I didn’t plan on telling you all of this tonight…but actually, I have enjoyed it and maybe it was a little more exciting to read; then just hearing about my housecleaning. Anyways…God has brought me thru a day…when at first, I didn’t know if I could make it thru the day. What a God; that He would always be there for us…what love!
Well…I guess I better go, before I write another book…lol. Anyways, you take care and have a great night and I pray that you will truly feel the loving presence of God, throughout your night! Have a great weekend and I hope to see you Sunday evening…as I share another day or two with you, along with the goodness of a great…loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings on your night and may God truly be with you!
See you soon!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
