Hello everyone! Welcome back this evening, to the Heart to Heart Blog! I am so glad to be back with you tonight! I hope that you have had a good weekend…I know that I have and I was able to get a lot of rest this weekend, which has really been good for me and my health!
Well…there’s nothing like sleeping the weekend away! You might be thinking right now…wow, she really lives an interesting life, when she’s not serving God; but I have to admit…sleeping has become one of my favorite things to do. You see…I run a very, very busy schedule during my week, which usually lasts from about 6:20 in the morning…when I put my feet on the floor, until around 10:00 at night. I’m either doing things around the house or I’m working on the thing that I enjoy the most, which is the ministry. I just love reaching out to people…to offer them an ounce of hope…something that never came that easy to me, while I was facing very overwhelming moments of circumstance.
You know…I remember a time, when the doctor had ordered me to stay upstairs in our home, for 3 months. Wow…was that fun! I had just had major surgery on my right knee and the left one had been so bad; that he feared that it just might dislocate, while going down the stairs, which would destroy everything he had done on the right knee.
One thing I learned throughout that time; was how loneliness can be just as bad as being laid up. I remember those long days, when I would look out my window and see all my neighbors going here and there; but yet they never took the time to call me or come over for a visit, while my husband was at work. Many times I questioned God, as to why these lonely moments had to take place, while facing overwhelming moments of pain and recovery. One thing God did reveal to me; was that He was using these very difficult times, to show me what it’s also like for others, who face similar situations. You see…come to find out…God was equipping me and preparing me for this ministry…and even though I was alone a lot, during those very difficult times; I did find myself turning more and more to God…probably more than if I had company all the time…so you see; God does have a purpose, for everything that He allows within our lives.
After a very restful weekend, I am now enjoying a quiet moment with you and God…oh…and Mr. Moose. You probably don’t know about Mr. Moose…do you? Well, he’s kind of my ministry mascot. He sits in the windowsill and watches me, as I work all day. Also, he’s one of the characters, in a children’s coloring book that I designed, which is titled… “The Wilderness Gang: Loving Others Who Hurt Us.” You know…there seems to be so much bullying with children in schools; so with God’s help, I decided to do a story/coloring book; that would encourage children, who may have a tough time with other children. In the book, we have more than Mr. Moose. Let’s see…we have Mrs. Raccoon…Professor Squirrel and Mr. Crow…and we don’t want to forget that mean old bear; that bullies the wilderness gang, while trying to stop them from helping others who are injured and rejected in the forest. If you would like to check out this book, for your children or for someone you know; that may be going thru a tough time right now; you can visit the Wilderness Gang here!
Well…I hate to leave you, while we are having a good talk; but I’m going to go and soak in the remainder of my day off and then I will see you again tomorrow night. Please take care...and I pray that God will truly be with you throughout your night…and may you always feel His loving presence…especially while facing the difficult times in your life!
Also…I invite you to come back and join me tomorrow night, as I share my day with you, along with the goodness of a great…loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings on your night!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…Diane
