Good Sunday evening everyone…and a big welcome tonight, to the Heart to Heart Blog! I am so glad that you came to spend some time with me this evening and I pray that God will truly bless our time together tonight!
Well…I can say for sure that this has truly been a pleasant weekend! It seems like the past few weeks, my husband and I have been working on little projects around the home; but this weekend, I was determined to let my body have a break and just rest and do what came to my thoughts for once…and wow...did I ever enjoy my time off!
You know…I was thinking tonight; that it’s so easy for us to get caught up into a rut…even before the week begins. Seems like we just finish a week, of the same ole things that we finished the week before; that before we know it…we begin to dread another week, of the same ole things, which only becomes a plan from Satan, to get us caught into a web of despair.
As some of you may already know…my week days can start at 7:30 in the morning and end around 10:00 at night. There can be times, when the weekend just isn’t long enough and before I know it…I’m back to starting another busy week, of the things that I did the week before. Moments like these can cause us to lose the excitement we once had for life and can even get us off track with God. Let’s face it…we all have a tendency of getting into a rut and once we are caught into a rut…then it seems like it’s not always that easy to get out of it.
After a past week of feeling a little this way; God was reminding me of one thing over the weekend…and that is to not allow these moments to become a path that only takes us further down, to a place where all we feel is hopelessness and despair; but rather, we need to focus back on the times, when life was difficult…but yet, God brought us through those difficulties. When we can look at life in this way; then hope will always shine within us and keep us moving forward with anticipation, as to what God is about to do next.
Last night…before going to bed, I was reading a few, of what I call my life verses from the Bible…and as I read 2 Corinthians 12:9, I kind of stopped in my tracks, when I read a section of that verse that says… “My power shows up best in weak people.” All of a sudden, it was like I got a big “wow” factor…and from there, I just kept reading these words over and over again.
Do we realize that we have our thinking on backwards at times? Here, we think that these tough moments in a weak, are only going to take us down to nothing; when all along…these moments that seem so troubling to us, are the moments, when God’s power lights up and becomes the greatest through us. I think sometimes; we either get so caught up in the moments that seem so difficult at the time…or we tend to get so caught up, in the way that the world seems to cope with a bad day or a bad week…that before we know it, we are also caught up in that same way of coping, when it comes to our own struggles and difficulties.
In Psalm 118:24, we read… “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”…and why will we rejoice and be glad in it? Because God not only made the day we’re walking thru…but He also has control over the day that He has designed just for us.
No matter whether we experience great moments in a day or whether we experience some tough moments in our day…God has control and this will also help us to remain distant, from the ruts we can easily fall prey to…because instead of living in dread, of the moments we just lived the week before…we can begin to anticipate the newness of a brand new week…praise God!
Well…I hope that our visit tonight will help you to prepare for another new week with God! When we can begin another new week…looking straight ahead…focused with anticipation, as to what God has planned for us, in this brand new week; then we will find that the ruts have been repaired and the road appears to be much smoother, with new things to see…learn and experience! Praise God!
Tonight, I pray that you will have a great night of rest, with a peace that only comes from the Prince of all Peace…and may your Monday be anticipated and truly blessed by God! Take care and I will hope to be back with you again tomorrow evening, as I share more thoughts from the day, along with the goodness of a great, loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings so much on your night…and this brand new week ahead!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
