Good Sunday evening everyone…and a big welcome tonight, to the Heart to Heart Blog! Well…this has been a great day for me! I have spent some very special moments with God today and even more…I was able to get several hours of rest! Don’t you just love Sunday’s!
I’ll tell you…this has been the best day for resting! After a Saturday of rain and cool breezes, coming through the window this afternoon…I couldn’t ask for more! What a gift from God…and you know what…He truly makes everything work out for our good…in every way!
As we prepare for another new week, I thought that I would take our time together this evening and just spend it with God. I don’t know about you; but I could use a jumpstart, for this brand new week ahead…so tonight, I thought I’d share a Bible verse with you; that has truly touched my heart, which is found in Isaiah 26:3…and we read…“He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!”
You know…after reading this Bible verse many times, I wonder if we really know the depth of its meaning. It’s not only the thought of keeping our minds on God that keeps us in perfect peace; but actually, it’s a true connection with God that keeps us separate, from the things that can attempt to bring us down.
Think of it this way…when a person has a phone connection with another person; then nothing or no one can intrude on that private connection. It’s like those two people are locked into each other and the conversation that is taking place at the time…to the place, where nothing else can happen or take over those moments, when they are alone…talking about whatever is coming to their thoughts.
In a similar way…when we have a true connection with God and our minds are on Him…and only Him; then nothing can intrude on the peace and the good things that stem from that connection because that connection is only between us and God.
You know…I just wonder how many times we turn our thoughts to God in a day. It seems like our minds are on everything but God. It’s amazing how we can get caught up into everything that is or may be going wrong; that before we know it…this connection has locked us into a place, where it continues to take control, through the remainder of the day. Don’t we realize that connections such as these are only going to bring more struggles and challenges into our day, which only produces needless suffering?
I don’t know about you; but our time together this evening has become a wakeup call for me; that can actually aid in this week ahead! I just wonder what would happen, if we were to wake up tomorrow morning, with God on our minds. I’m sure that this early morning connection would keep us connected to God all day…and I’m also sure that this connection would help us to experience peace, rather than anxiety…no matter what the day may bring our way.
You know…I think sometimes; we just get too caught up in wrong connections, while listening to what the world’s opinions and thoughts are, rather than turning our thoughts over to God and what He can truly do, to help us through these trying times in a day.
Well…again, I don’t know about you…but I’m going to wake up in the morning…plug myself into God and aim to turn my thoughts to that connection throughout the day, rather than what may be attempting to encircle me and take me down.
As we begin this brand new week, my prayer is that we will find more peace in each day…just by turning our thoughts often, in God’s direction. May you truly experience the peaceful presence of God in your night…and may your day be surrounded, by the loving and caring spirit…of a God, who longs to be everything, for every little thing you need! Take care and I will hope to be back with you again tomorrow evening, for more thoughts from the day, along with the goodness, of a great, loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings so much on your night…and this brand new week!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
