Good Friday evening everyone...and a big welcome tonight, to the Heart to Heart Blog! Well…as I’m sitting here in my office, with my feet up…a gentle rain is coming down around me…bringing me peace, after a very busy day. You know…how often do we really truly see God through nature?
I remember a time, when I had taken a full summer, to do some writing out on our deck. One day, as I was thinking on what God would have me to write…I got up and stood over by the rail of the deck and just looked up into the heavens. As I looked up…there were clouds that would make a person think that they could just pull them back like curtains and walk into heaven. As I began to look more deeply into these clouds…a gust of wind came up out of the blue and about knocked me over. Within a short time, I was writing a poem, titled… “God’s Breath Brings Newness.” Just think how we could connect more deeply with God, if we would only take a little time to slow down in life and observe what is around us.
Well…I hope you had a good Friday…I know I did and I praise God tonight, for giving me the strength, to do all that needed to be accomplished in my day! To some…cleaning a house wouldn’t probably be a fun thing to do; but for me, I find peace in cleaning because first of all…I’m away from the computer and my work for a while…and there just seems to be a slower pace in my day, while I’m cleaning.
For some time now, I have been keeping an eye on our young lilac bush…not far from my office window because this year, we had 2 flowers come on it and I wanted to bring them into the office, so I could enjoy them. I just love…love…love lilacs and they remind me so much of my great grandfather, who had lilac bushes all around his front yard. In fact, when they bloomed…they were so beautiful because he had every other bush in purple and every other bush in white. As a young girl, I would walk up the path, from where I lived and just look at them and smell them even more.
Anyways, while I was cleaning the office today, I noticed that the lilacs were about ready to bloom; so with much anticipation, I went and got the pruners and walked out into the yard and cut them and now they are sitting beside me, on my windowsill shelf…and I am loving it!
While we are on the subject of plants…a few summers ago, I started some Roma tomatoes from scratch and used seed directly from a store bought Roma tomato, as an experiment. I put 4 plants out front and then I asked God, if He would walk by my spindly tomato plants and touch them and help them to grow. I was surprised to see…by summer’s end; that I had 250 Roma tomatoes on those spindly plants; that I had started on my own.
You know…there is nothing God can’t do, if we would only believe. What may seem silly or different to others; is not that way in the eyes of God. He truly takes our thoughts and hearts desires very seriously. In Luke 17:6, we read… “And the Lord said, “If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” A true seed of faith can produce much…if only we would believe in what that seed could produce. If we are only going to say that this seed will produce something; but yet, we never believed enough in this seed, to water it and care for it; then what’s the sense of even planting it. God asks so little of us; but yet we try to make it much more difficult; then what He really desires of us.
I have truly enjoyed these thoughts that God has placed upon my heart tonight…but before I forget, I would like to remind you that I will be posting Sunday Inspiration this evening. Like I said last night…if you are a night owl and will be up late this evening; then please feel free to check it out later tonight; but if not…the page will be definitely updated, by tomorrow morning. I hope you will come and enjoy some music…a Bible reading…a thought for the week, along with a great God inspired writing titled…“Sufficient Grace!” To visit Sunday Inspiration…you can either click here or you can find Sunday Inspiration, under the tab above; that’s titled… “God Inspired Writings.” I truly pray that your heart will be touched, with the words that God has shared with my heart…to share with you!
Well…it’s about time for me to go, as I have more work to do before bed. Tonight, I pray that you will have a great night of rest…surrounded by the loving presence of God…and that your weekend will be its best! Take care and I will hope to be with you again, on Sunday evening, as I share more thoughts from the day, along with the goodness of a great, loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings so much on your night…and this weekend!
