Good evening everyone! Happy Friday night…and a big welcome to the Heart to Heart Blog! I am so happy to be with you this evening…and just think…we all made it through another week. No matter what came our way; God has brought us through those tough moments; that we probably thought we could never get through at the time.
I’ll tell you…the struggles that I have faced lately, have truly been a challenge for me. In fact, I was just telling my husband today; that my health seems to have gone downhill, since last spring. I’m trying to figure out, if this lady is just slowly getting old, or if Satan’s the culprit. It’s probably a little of both. Maybe it’s time for me to get my iron skillet out and come at the one, who seems to be constantly coming at me.
When I first started this ministry with God, I had a lady that I was in touch with quite often. She was really going through some tough struggles in her life and I told her that she needed to get an attitude with Satan and not allow him to take away her joy. I teasingly mentioned about my big cast iron skillet and said…whenever Satan comes at me hard, I threaten to get out that big iron skillet. After mentioning this to her…she began to laugh and now, when I happen to get a chance to visit with her, she will say… “Diane…time to get that iron skillet out…Satan’s been really coming at me.”
You know…we may laugh at something like this; but one thing I have truly come to see…and that is that we can’t have an attitude with God; but we sure can with Satan…and it’s time that we quit allowing him to abuse us, when all we have to do; is allow God’s power to spring up within us and defeat the moments that Satan is attempting to defeat us with.
Well…as I’m sitting here this evening, after a very long and busy week, I am reflecting on God’s faithfulness. Even though I may have not felt His presence continually, due to tiredness or some other health issue…He has still been there; otherwise, I probably wouldn’t be here tonight…writing to you.
You know…it amazes me, how we can easily get wrapped up, in what is going wrong around us…to the place where we completely bypass the moments, when God has been truly faithful. Maybe He hasn’t brought us completely through the trial; but we need to ask ourselves these questions…“Who has kept us standing, during these difficult times”…and “Who has kept us moving forward, at the most difficult and heart wrenching moments?” I think that if we could become more in tune with these thoughts, rather than what is going on around us; then we would begin to see a glimpse of hope appear…a hope that can be a reminder that God is there and has never left our side.
You know…I sure have enjoyed some thoughts from the heart this evening; but before I leave, I would like to remind you to check out Sunday Inspiration this weekend. Come and enjoy some great inspirational music…a Bible reading…a beautiful thought for the week and a great God inspired writing, titled…“A Merciful Scar.” I will be updating Sunday Inspiration later this evening; so if you are up and can’t sleep; then please feel free to check it out then…or it will be available to you, starting Saturday morning. Either way, I pray that your heart will be truly touched, with the words that God has given me, to share with you! To visit Sunday Inspiration, you can either come back to this blog post and
