Good evening everyone! Well...dinner's done and hubby is giving me a hand at the dishes; so I can spend some extra time with you tonight. Wasn't that nice of him!
I hope that you've been enjoying your Saturday! I started out my time off, with a good Christmas movie...while I sacked out on the daybed in my office. I don't know what it is; but every time I seem to have some time off, I am craving a good Christmas film. Today, I was watching the Christmas Box, with Maureen O'Hara, Richard Thomas and Annette O' Toole. This film really has some good meaning to it and it really displays the true meaning of Christmas.
I don't know what it is; but it seems like the holidays have crept up on me a little faster this year. In fact, I can't believe how fast each month goes by. In my office, I have what you call a "block calendar." In one of the front spaces, a block fits in for the month and then the other two blocks get turned each day for the date...and sometimes I stop and think to myself... "Diane, didn't you just turn those blocks?" I guess this shows how the sands of time are running out. With each turn of those blocks, I have come to see that I am one step further away from this world and all that we experience down here...and one step closer to an eternity with God. What hope...when we know that we are headed in the right direction!
After a good movie and some rest, it was time to finish dinner and get around for the evening. I just love a good time of relaxation, while writing to you...like sitting with my feet up...curlers on top of the head and something under the eyes, to repair what was damaged through the week, from staring at a computer screen. I'll tell you...I'm glad that God accepts us for who we are! You know...we don't have to do anything special, for Him to love us...just believe in Him...it's that simple.
I have a small office in our home and I have made the office handicapable. Everything is within my reach; so I don't have to keep getting up continually. Anyways...when I sit and do my writings...I am definitely surrounded by God and some very special photos. As I sit here in my curlers...with no make-up and even a lounging gown, I know that these things don't matter to God. You see...He isn't looking at my outward appearance...only the heart and this is one of the reasons why I love Him so!
You know...we as humans can become so caught up in judging people by their appearance and how popular they are or for other reasons; but with God, He's more concerned about the heart and the needs of the heart. I remember reading the story of David in the Bible...when God had sent Samuel to anoint David as king. As Samuel began to approach David, he began to look at his stature and as he did; he questioned God...to make sure that he had the right person..."but the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (I Samuel 16:7)
I don't know about you but I'm so glad that God loves us for who He made us to be. One thing that I'm constantly reminded of; is that God could have never made any one of us, if first, He wasn't able to love us; so the next time you feel as if you have to please God, to get Him to love you...remember that He made you...just so He could love you...just for the way you are.
Well...time for me to get off of here and enjoy the rest of my day off! I pray that your night will be a night of peace and rest! May God truly be there for you and most of all...may you always know how much He loves you!
Blessings on your night!
It's Always & Only Because of Him...
