Risen Hope Ministries | What are you feeling? | Impatience
"Rest in the Lord; wait patiently for him to act. Don’t be envious of evil men who prosper." Psalm 37:7
"Now as for you, dear brothers who are waiting for the Lord’s return, be patient, like a farmer who waits until the autumn for his precious harvest to ripen. (8) Yes, be patient. And take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near." James 5:7-8
If we were to be honest with ourselves; there can be times, when we grow impatient with God. All that seems to be on our minds; is that we want our problem resolved and right now. Do we realize that a delay, in an answered prayer, could mean that God has plans and in order for those plans to be carried out; He has to have a little more time?
When I look back on my own life; I now can see moments, when I was in a hurry to have my problems resolved and that was due to what I wanted and what I was viewing at the moment, which wasn't a pretty site but now that those moments are behind me; I can see the reason for the delays and why God didn't always answer my prayers right away. In fact, I was just recently telling my husband; that in order for me to do all that God has me doing right now; I had to learn a lot and grow in Him; in order for me to be at His level and do the work that He has called me to do. In fact, when I look back on my life; I see a life that had to be broken...repaired and complete in Him; so that Diane wasn't in the picture...only God; so when you feel as though you are growing impatient with God; take a look beyond the problem and you will find the reason for the delay.
