Risen Hope Ministries | What are you feeling? | Insult
"Happy are those who are persecuted because they are good, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. (11) “When you are reviled and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers—wonderful!(12) Be happy about it! Be very glad! for a tremendous reward awaits you up in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted too." Matthew 5:10-12 "But I say: Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! (45) In that way you will be acting as true sons of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust too." Matthew 5:44-45
Insult can definitely attempt to place us in a weak pit of despair. Words can be damaging to the soul, while the heart becomes wounded deep within. I grew up in a home, where I was talked down and never uplifted as a young person and due to the words that had been spoken to me; I began to believe them, which only made my situation much more difficult to get over.
Through time, I began to see that these moments of insult could be turned around, as I began to see how God could reverse the damage and use these moments, for something better in my life, while creating a new heart within me. That is why it's so important, to hand the broken pieces of our lives over to God because we do not have the wisdom, to know how to put each broken piece back together. After going through counseling, to repair the damage that had been done, I learned that this wasn't a bad thing that was happening to me but it was actually a time, when God's hand began to touch my life in a very real way, as He began to repair what had been broken. Remember one thing...allow the deep heartache in your life to produce something good, rather than abuse you.
