Risen Hope Ministries | What are you feeling? | Loneliness

Loneliness | What are you feeling? | with Diane K Chamberlain
"I will lie down in peace and sleep, for though I am alone, O Lord, you will keep me safe." Psalm 4:8

"For the mountains may depart and the hills disappear, but my kindness shall not leave you. My promise of peace for you will never be broken, says the Lord who has mercy upon you." Isaiah 54:10

"No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm—I will come to you." John 14:18

These verses have truly been of encouragement to me; especially while I was facing one knee surgery after another. There were moments, when I couldn't seem to shut my brain down, due to the pain and feelings I was experiencing at that time; so I would puff up my pillow and close my eyes and picture myself lying in the arms of Jesus. I came to see that He was the only remedy, for a sleepless night and a broken spirit.

Isn't it amazing how our circumstances can dictate our feelings and make us feel alone, during these trying times in our lives? The only way we are ever going to find peace and the hope that we need, to sustain us during these moments; is when we are able to turn away from the deceitful thoughts and controlling feelings that seem to accompany our problems. When we can settle down and focus back on the promises that God gives us...promises that say..."No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm;" then we will find that we have a true friend; that can be our companion, during these troubling times in our lives.
