Risen Hope Ministries | What are you feeling? | Low Self-Esteem
"So God made man like his Maker. Like God did God make man; man and maid did he make them." Genesis 1:27
As God’s messenger I give each of you God’s warning: Be honest in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your value by how much faith God has given you. (4-5) Just as there are many parts to our bodies, so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of it, and it takes every one of us to make it complete, for we each have different work to do. So we belong to each other, and each needs all the others." Romans 12:3-5
When we can look beyond the moments that seem to say that we aren't worth anything; to connect with a God that says we are worth everything; then we will be able to stand tall and shake the circumstance from us and press on. I'll tell you, when it comes to low self-esteem; that seemed to be my personality for a long time. I had allowed my problems to abuse me so deeply; that I began to believe the messages that they were relaying to me...which only made me feel as though I had been a rag...dragged behind a car, on a dirt road.
Over time...God taught me that He would've never created me, unless He was able to love and care for me first. You know...Satan has a way of preying on us, during the weak moments, as though we are a wounded animal. He cannot work on our strength but he can definitely work on our weaknesses; so once he sees a weakness in our lives, he moves in and begins to weaken us further, so we begin to believe the deceitful lies that he is attempting to convey to us. Once we believe these lies; that is when he continues to bring us further down, while he attempts to make us distant from God, which only makes us feel alone and unworthy of anything in our lives.
Today, we need to focus on the the true love that God has for us through His word and begin to shun the deceitful lies that are attempting to have control over us. Once we can look up to God, rather than into the face of these discouraging moments; this form of deception will begin to fall powerless to the ground, while we discover a renewed strength that can lift us to our feet, while helping us to press on.
