Hello everyone! Happy Friday and welcome today, to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of the week; but to me, when I hit Friday… I am reminded that God brought me through another week. My prayer today; is that we will look way beyond the problems in our lives; to spend time with the problem solver, which is Jesus Christ!
You know…there are people in this life, who work hard to please others. They drain themselves of life itself, just to get the approval of someone else, when there is already someone (Jesus Christ) who loves them for who they are.
How is it that people will go to the extreme to please another human being? Could it be that they have been rejected so many times in life; that they can’t stand to see it happen again or could it be that they fear being alone in life? I have come to see, through the years of my own people pleasing; that all it does; is make a person become someone, who doesn’t fit into the shoes that God created for them to walk in.
You know…in life, we will go to the extreme, to make a person love us. We will try a new hairstyle…lose a lot of weight…wear different clothes…or even talk to others, in a way that doesn’t fit who we are…just so we can get their approval. I don’t know about you; but that sounds awful exhausting!
One thing that has drawn me closer to God…is knowing that I can come to Him…just for who I am, at that very moment. Maybe my hair is a mess or maybe I have been crying, with mascara running down my face. Maybe I’ve put on a couple pounds or am sitting alone with God, with curlers in my hair, as I prepare for bed. No matter how I appear or no matter how I talk at the moment…I know that God is listening and accepting me…just for who He made me to be.
Do you know that God looks way beyond the things that we identify, as having to be presentable or even perfect before another person? I’ve come to see that He’s not interested in my hairstyle…my make up or even if I’m skinny or fat; but rather, He is more interested in my heart and what resides within the heart.
I truly believe that when we are willing to walk with God…way beyond the materialistic ways of pleasing others and connect with Him…deep within the heart; that is when we will come to see that we can truly be content with God’s love alone.
Are you looking for a simple relationship today…one that won’t cause you to be someone other than who you really are? May I recommend a deep and lasting relationship with God? I know from experience that when His love fills every part of our being…that His love alone truly satisfies the heart and makes life so complete.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
