Hello everyone! Happy Friday…and a big welcome to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! It’s so good to have you visiting the Risen Hope Ministries website today and my prayer for you; is that you will discover God in a way that you never have before!
Quite some time ago, I wrote a quote that goes a little like this… “My body may be getting old…I may not be rich and the trials I go through may not always be easy; but I’d rather give praise to my God; then bow down before my weaknesses.”
You know…there are days when I do feel my body aging, especially when I think back to how I first felt, when I began this ministry 15 years ago…and I know one thing for sure…I’m not rich because I give it all away. The trials I face can sometimes be unbearable, to the place where I wonder at times, if I will be able to keep my head above the troubled waters. Let’s face it…life isn’t easy; but the way I see it; is if I have to go through these trying times in my life; then I’d rather give praise to God and let Him have the glory, rather than bowing down to my weaknesses, while allowing Satan to get the credit, for something he definitely doesn’t deserve.
One thing I have learned…especially after writing this quote; is how easily we can find ourselves bowing down to our weaknesses, which Satan just longs for us to do. I’m sure he lives with anticipation, as to how we will react to the thorns that he places within our flesh…thorns of pain and deep heartache, along with other troubles. Satan knows that if he can hear one moan or groan or one word of complaint; then he has done his job well. You see…it’s not only Satan’s plan to afflict us; but to also cripple us spiritually and if he can get a negative response from us; then this is when he rejoices and feels as though he has won the battle.
Today, we must realize that the only way we are going to overcome these weaknesses in our lives; is when we choose to fight back, with the strength of Almighty God! When we choose to wallow in these moments of affliction; then we have also chosen to bow down to our weaknesses and once we do that; then we are handing the control stick over to Satan…and from there, he manipulates the affliction, in a way that only increases in strength.
Like I’ve said many times before…this is not the time for us to wallow in despair; but instead, we need to praise God, in the midst of our despair. When we can find, even one small thing to praise God for, in the midst of it all; then moments like these will begin to weaken the works of darkness, while replacing our weaknesses with renewed strength. Anytime we choose to go in God’s direction…despite what we are facing; we will not only be drawn closer to God; but our actions and responses to life’s problems, will bring evil to its knees, where it will remain weak and powerless.
No matter what you’re facing…now isn’t the time to give into your problems because reacting in this way will only give Satan more strength, to continue the affliction. Instead of bowing down to weakness, why not lift hands of praise...up to a God, who longs so much for our praise. Let your heart of praise become a message to God that says… “I may not understand Lord, but I’m going to trust you all the way!”
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
