Hello everyone! Happy Thursday and a big welcome to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I pray that your day is off to a good start and that you will come to see God…as the best friend you could ever have!
You know…most of us do pretty good, when it comes to running to God with our problems. We cry and beg God for help; but the question I would like to ask today; is do we stick around for God’s response?
Seems like we either say a quick prayer and move on or we pray and then turn back to our problems. One thing I’ve come to see; is that we will never find the answers we need, to help us with the questions to our problems, if we are the only one doing the talking.
One thing I’ve truly learned when it comes to having a relationship with God; is that we should not only give Him our needs and share our hearts with Him; but we must also wait on Him and give Him a chance to show us the way. We must remember that He is the only One with the answer; so if we are saying a quick prayer and running back into life; then we just may miss out, on what He’s trying to convey to us.
I remember moments in my life, when I would sit and cry out to God and beg Him for His help; but never once, did I give Him a chance to respond and because of that, I never found the answer to my need…that is, until my eyes were opened…for me to clearly see what I was doing wrong.
You know…God has a way of speaking deep within the heart and even through our thoughts, if we are willing to listen. I remember a time, when I went through a very difficult day. As I walked into my office and sat on the daybed…all I could do was stare down into the flames of an electric woodstove heater. As I sat there…not speaking one word; I decided to just let God read my heart. I wasn’t in a hurry and all I longed for at that moment, was for God’s words to penetrate deep within my heart…and do you know that within a short time; God began to speak within my heart and thoughts and soon my problem was resolved.
Today, can we say that we have a one-sided or two-sided relationship with God? In other words…do we find that we’re always doing the talking but never listening? Maybe now is the time, when we need to get alone with God…remain silent and listen for the still small voice of God within our spirits. You know…He has the answers; but we’re never going to discover them, if we are never listening for them. Open up your heart today and pull up a chair with God…deep within the heart and let Him be everything…for everything you need!
Blessings on your day!
