Hello everyone! Welcome today, to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I’m so glad you stopped by today and my prayer for you; is that you will truly experience the loving and powerful presence of God in your day!
Over the weekend, I was taking some time to reconnect with God and seek His presence even more in my life. As I was sitting in my office…starring out the window, I was thinking on how easily we can put roadblocks up; that can actually stop God’s presence from working in our lives. For example…focusing on failure can become a big roadblock; that can actually keep us in bondage…far away from the blessings that God longs to share with us.
You know…when we choose to count ourselves as failures or even reflect on the past in a negative way and the wrong that was done; then a roadblock goes up, while these thoughts block out the presence of God…while keeping us closely connected with a failure that can bring us to a sudden halt.
I remember a time in my life, when I was at an all-time low. In fact, I don’t think that I could ever feel as low as I felt at that time. As each day became more difficult to live; I began to see myself, as though I was a rag…tied behind a car…going down an old dusty and dirty road…which to make a long story short, made me feel like a piece of nothing. As I look back on that time in my life, I see how those thoughts and feelings kept a roadblock up…a roadblock that kept me on one side with the problem, while the God I truly needed was on the other side of that roadblock.
You know…I don’t think we always realize where our thoughts and feelings can take us. I’m learning more and more that our lives have to be about God and what He longs for us to be in this life. When we focus too much on what has taken place in our lives…this is not good because we become drawn up too much within ourselves, while we leave God behind. Moments like these only put a division between us and the powerful God we need, during difficult times such as these.
One thing we need to keep in mind each day; is that when we allow the roadblocks of failure and the past, to get in our way; then we become disconnected from the only power that can bring us through these difficult times, which only adds more failure to the failure that we’ve already been focusing on.
We need to remember once more that Satan can only feed on our weaknesses; so if we are caught up in a weak moment; then we not only allow a roadblock to go up; but we also fence ourselves in, with an evil power that can make it even more difficult to move on.
If we are going to remain focused on God and where He’s leading us in life; then we need to allow His grace to overflow within our lives; so we can find the energy and strength through Him that is needed; so we can keep moving in God’s direction, which will keep the roadblocks down and evil at a distance.
Today, it’s time to take all the roadblocks down; that have kept us separated, from a power that is more than capable of walking us away from the moments that are attempting to enslave us…and the only way we are going to be able to do that; is by letting go of failure and the things of the past.
No matter what you’re walking through today…and no matter how difficult the path may seem…look up, for the grace that can keep you free and connected to a God, who is more than able of walking you out of these moments of despair.
Blessings on your day!
