Hello everyone! Welcome today…to Moments Spent with God! I am so glad to have you here today and I pray that you will truly find a connection with God while you’re here…that will lift you above and beyond the circumstances in your life.
You know…sometimes we can experience days, when we feel as if we continue to struggle through life. It seems like we just walk away from one struggle…only to enter another, which can make life a little overwhelming and even frustrating.
Today, I looked up the definition of the word struggle and this is what I found…“A forceful or violent effort to get free of restraint or resist attack.” Even though this definition of the word struggle could be associated to a struggle that may involve someone trying to hurt us; God has also shown me today that this definition of the word struggle, could also be related to a forceful or violent effort to resist the attacks that Satan places upon us.
How many times have we thought of the word struggle…as though it is a trial or a moment of affliction…never realizing that the trials or the moments of affliction are completely separate from the struggle. The difficult moments that Satan afflicts us with are only the beginning of what he has in mind. From there…Satan attempts to use these moments of weakness, to put us in a place of bondage and from there the struggle becomes very real. Little does he know; that we have a God, who holds the keys to those moments, when we are bound up and struggling to be set free.
A good question that we need to ask ourselves today is this… “How is it that we struggle for so long?” Is it because we are trying to set ourselves free or could it be that we are resisting God’s help? Either way…it’s not a good thing because these actions only prolong the trial or moment of affliction, which only makes the struggle that much more difficult.
You know…we might as well accept that we are not strong enough to free ourselves from these moments of affliction. After all…our weaknesses are what put us in these moments of bondage…so if we are weak; then that means that we will need someone stronger to free us…right? This is the way I see it…we are going to have to stop struggling and admit our weaknesses to God; so He can take over and free us from these moments that seem to be such an overwhelming struggle for us.
I truly believe…from my own experiences; that when we quit struggling, to fight these weaknesses on our own and turn to a God, who can become the mighty warrior we need, during difficult times such as these; then the struggle will come to an end and God will once more triumph, over the evil that once attempted to keep us in bondage.
Blessings on your day!
