Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! Welcome today, to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad that you stopped by today and my prayer for you; is that you will come to experience God, in a way that you have never experienced Him before!
Today…while on Twitter, I asked a question that went like this… “If you were standing face to face with Jesus right now, what would you want to tell Him?” You know…I remember a time, when I first began writing and at that time, I was into writing poetry. Anyways, I wrote a poem in my first book that was titled… “Meeting an Old Friend for the First Time” and it went like this… “I remember the days when I would sing to you…my loneliness would soon go away; or just to tell you all my feelings, would lift my heavy load and make a better day. I knew you were always with me, when I would cry to you in pain; that’s when I felt your arms of love around me…letting me know that you were restoring me back again. And when I saw the little things that you would always do; it was a reminder that you loved me…and that I loved you too. And now, when we meet for the very first time…your face I will finally see; I will meet the One who was always my friend, even if I didn’t always know that it was meant to be. As I approach you Lord, my lifetime friend, I realize I have no pain; I also feel the loneliness leave and a new strength within my life gain. Your arms I felt around me, are now very real; your touch that drew me to your side, I can once more feel. My friend, as you reach for my hand, I can’t describe what I’m feeling, as we begin to walk; sweet and gentle words keep surrounding me, as I listen to you talk. And now, as you lead me to a beautiful place, I think back to the things that you would always do; and now you want us to be friends forever, in this home you’ve built brand new. Happy tears begin to flow…realizing the pain and loneliness we once shared…would never more be; I then turned to my Friend, with a great big smile and said, “I love you Jesus…thanks for choosing me!”
You know…it’s so easy to get wrapped up in what is happening around us; that we tend to forget that there is an eternal hope awaiting those, who truly know Jesus as their Savior. Even though we suffer with pain and deep heartache, as we struggle through the challenges of this imperfect world…as Christians, we know that this life won’t continue forever…but a time will come, when we will leave everything behind, to enter a place of perfection…a place where nothing will ever hurt us again.
One thing I have learned the most, while walking down some dark and lonely pathways of affliction; is that these should be the moments, when we draw closer to God and make Him our closest friend. I truly believe that as we get to know Him more…through the difficult times; then that friendship will continue to flourish…even into heaven.
Today…it’s time to stop allowing the difficult moments to abuse us…and begin anew, by allowing them to be used, in a way that will allow us to know Jesus more. When we choose to walk hand in hand with God, rather than hand in hand with our problems; then I know that we will also begin to form a new and lasting friendship with Jesus; that will one day walk us into Heaven; where we will be able to meet the best friend we ever had!
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
