Do you feel trapped within a form of darkness?

Moments Spent with God with Diane K Hiltz Chamberlain
Hello everyone! Welcome today, to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad you came to join me today and my prayer is that God will truly touch our hearts, in a way that will lift us high above any despair that attempts to enter our lives!

As I was listening to a little music before my writing today, my eyes were taken to a picture that I have on my office wall. I chose this picture for my wall because it reminded me, of where I once was and how Jesus brought me out of so much darkness.

Anyways…this picture I have on my wall really tells a story! When you look to the right side of the picture, all you see is darkness; then in the middle of the picture, you see Jesus helping a person from the darkness into the light.

As I began to focus more deeply on this picture, I truly began to see what Jesus longs to be for each of us each day…and that is actually the stronghold of our lives. When we are weak and vulnerable to the darkness we’re in; Jesus will actually step into the darkness and shed a light that can illuminate all forms of darkness. Once His presence takes over…these forms of darkness that we’ve been experiencing begin to back off and Jesus comes to us…takes our arm and wraps it around his neck and takes the weight of all of our weaknesses upon Himself, as He leads us out of the darkness; that once attempted to have control over our lives.

I don’t know about you…but this is the greatest love I’ve ever experienced in my life! Even after the mistakes we make and the weaknesses we unknowingly fall prey to…Jesus walks way beyond those things, to love and care for us, as His dearly loved children…wow!

I remember a time in my life, when the weight of my circumstance had pretty much crushed me and taken me down to the ground. As I sat alone on my bed…with tears pouring down my cheeks, I noticed my Bible off to the side and the very first verse I came to, when I opened the Bible was this… “The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking…” Ps. 34:18a.  At that very moment, I knew that Jesus was with me. Even though the house was empty at the time and I was alone with my circumstance; Jesus had stepped into my room and lifted me out of the darkness into the light of His loving presence, while taking all the weight of my circumstance upon Himself, when I had no more strength left to hold on.

How many times are we going to become so caught up, in what our circumstance is attempting to convey to us; that we completely bypass the One, who longs so much to take us out of darkness. I truly feel that when we begin to believe the thoughts and feelings that come from a weak circumstance; that these will become the moments that will definitely keep us bound up in darkness.

No matter what you may be facing today…look for the light of God’s presence…the light that can dispel darkness. I know from experience; that when you do this; that a powerful God will enter your darkness and He will take the weight of your pain and deep heartache upon Himself and from there, He will lead you into the light of a new dawn.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
