Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday & a big welcome to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I pray that your day is off to a good start and that your day will truly be filled, with the loving and peaceful presence of God!
Are you facing a difficult moment in your life right now? Have you felt as though your moments of despair have led to moments of defeat? Well I have good news for you today and it’s found in II Corinthians 4:7-9 and we read… “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (8) We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; (9) persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
The moments that spell defeat are actually a bad wound…but a wound that can be healed, with the help of the Great Physician and when we choose to look for God’s power through these difficult times, rather than our own so-called strength; then we come to see that we may be “hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
It’s amazing how a circumstance can make us feel like a puppet on a string, while controlling our every thought and feeling but these moments of control only exist because we are allowing it, by the way we respond to the circumstance. When we begin to believe in every bad moment we experience; then we are also being drawn to the wrong source…a source of evil that not only afflicts us but can control the affliction.
I remember a time…very clearly, when I dealt with a past sexual abuse and the wounds of this affliction seemed so deep; that I thought that I’d never heal from them. One thing I had to learn was to not allow the past, to have control over my life…and if we’re honest with ourselves; that isn’t always easy. The thing I came to truly see through it all; is that instead of allowing God to take control of these painful moments of the past…I was allowing the affliction to take hold of me and abuse me more. Once I began to work with God and let Him walk me through it all; that is when the wounds began to gradually heal.
Today, we need to come to the realization that these difficult moments are only temporary wounds and when we allow God to cover these wounds with His precious blood…the blood that can heal and restore our bodies and emotions; then we will begin to notice the affliction fading into the background, while we truly begin to experience and feel the power, of a living God at work within our lives.
No matter what you may be facing today; it may seem as if you are headed down a path of total destruction and you may feel as though the wounds will never heal; but one thing we must remember; is that with God in our lives; there is always a time and a place for restoration and once the wounds have healed; the scar will always be a reminder to us…of a time, when a powerful God was at work within our lives.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
