It's Always & Only Because of Him...
Doubt…the Culprit that Robs Us of God’s Blessings
Do we realize that we can miss out on so many blessings…simply because we doubt? As we share in this time of devotion, let’s turn to Matthew 17:18-20 and we read… “Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment. (19) Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” (20) He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Do we truly see our faith, as a connection between us and God? When we lack faith within our daily lives; then we have also lost a powerful connection…a connection that can draw us to the most powerful source around, which is Jesus Christ. I often think of this, in similarity to a phone connection. When we have a clear connection with our phones, then we can call whomever we want and we will always reach them without any difficulty but when a wire has been damaged or there is interference in the connection; then it makes it difficult to hear what the other person is saying. In a similar way, when we have a true connection of faith…between us and God; then we will not only be able to hear His voice within our spirits but we will also receive from Him, in return…for the things that we lack within our lives.
What happens though, when we allow doubt to creep in? Doubt can become a damaged wire or interference that keeps us distant from God, where our connection with Him becomes weak. We find that doubt only makes it that much more difficult, to hear the voice of God, while doubt also becomes a bad source of interference that blocks us from receiving the best that God has to offer us.
When we truly believe and come to accept a God, who is a limitless God and when we choose to stop limiting His power through doubt, then and only then, will we begin to truly experience the complete fullness, of a God who can do above and beyond, what we could ever imagine.
