Moments Spent with God with Diane K Hiltz Chamberlain
Hello everyone! I'm so glad that you stopped by for some special Moments Spent with God! Today, I would like to share a writing from my book... "Devotions to Bring Peace During Troubled Times." You may be wondering how this has anything to do with this page; but one thing I need to tell you; is that all my writings come from some very special moments spent with God and I truly believe that each writing comes directly from the heart of God, as a means of encouraging us, so we can continue to press on in life.
I hope you will enjoy this very special writing, titled... "A Personal Talk with God." Also...if you would like to purchase this book in digital or paperback...the information will be posted below.
May God truly bless your day with His loving and powerful presence!
Blessings ALWAYS!!
It's Always & Only Because of Him...
Diane

Devotions to Bring Peace during Troubled Times
A Personal Talk with God

Why do we use prayer as a last resort? We hear people say..."well, all I can do is pray." Why are we more willing to try everything that won't work before we decide to pray? Are we making our prayer life as though it's something that sits on the back burner of our minds? Are we only praying when a tragedy turns into an emergency?

God wants us to make Him our lifeline for everything throughout our day. He wants us to know that He can do so much more than what we can even begin to think of; but yet we choose to exhaust ourselves with every man made cure and when we find no end to our needs, then we choose to call upon God as a last resort.

Do we ever think that we could be suffering needlessly in our lives because we wait too long before we ask God for His help? When we are sick, would we wait and go to the doctor at the last minute? When we are in pain, would we wait and take our medicine, when the pain gets to its highest peak? If not, then why do we make God a last resort? Yes, we have decisions to make, when it comes to our health or other things that happen in our lives; but we could add a dose of prayer and include God into the circumstance.

What really happens when we pray? To me, it's as if we are on the phone with God and even though we can't see His face, we are still in His presence when we talk with Him and it's as if our words are being transported directly before His throne; as He is listening to us speak. Prayer to me isn't just a time when I bow my head and talk to God but rather, it's a time when I can talk to God...friend to friend. I can open up the deepest part of my heart and know that I can trust Him as He listens to me. I know that He will cry with me, when my heart is hanging at the end of a thread. I know He will not walk away when I need someone to listen to me.

When I pray...He becomes my counselor. He also becomes the prince of all peace, when I need someone to bring calmness to my spirit. He also becomes the great physician, when I'm in pain and I can't take the pain another minute. He not only lives in my heart but He is there to see what my heart goes through each day, whether good or bad. When my eyes have run out of tears, He turns inwardly to my heart and sees each tear that falls within.

Prayer isn't just a ritual; it's a time when we share with the One who created us. We are in the midst of the Most High God...in our own "Holy of Holies.” If we can feel this kind of connection with God when we pray, then we will always long to talk to Him and we will begin to see a renewed hope that comes through prayer.
