Hello everyone! Welcome back today, to Moments Spent with God! My prayer today; is that we all will receive a special touch from God; that will help us to disconnect from the problems around us; so we can truly connect with Him!
One thing I’m being reminded of more and more; is that we don’t need anything but Jesus! Yesterday morning, as I was talking with God about the ministry and my own personal relationship with Him, I began to see how easy it is to get caught up in ourselves and our own man made ideas, of how we can fix this and repair that and sometimes we can even find ourselves playing these roles without even realizing it…that is until we have found ourselves feeling distant from the One we need the most.
I remember a time, when God first led me into ministry work…about 15 years ago. All I had was a website and maybe a couple social networks that I was on. I would spend long hours with God…along with helping people and then one day; I was being published through a publishing company. Before I knew it, they had me checking ranks all the time and doing other marketing work that I had never done throughout my ministry. Before I knew it, I had become trapped within the walls of a man made ministry that seemed to be mostly made up of SEO work.
Recently, I was talking with my husband about this and was telling him that I wasn’t happy with what I was doing because it felt more like a business, rather than a ministry. All I longed to do was serve God, with all my heart…in the way that I had been called by God to do; so yesterday morning, I decided to read someone else’s article for a change and as I was reading the testimony of a pastor, who had faced a similar dilemma, I began to realize that I wasn’t happy because I wasn’t where God had placed me…to begin with.
As I finished my morning work and was getting ready to leave my office, to do some other things, I began to talk with God about these concerns and from there; He began to show me that all I needed for this ministry was Him. In other words, it doesn’t matter what the analytic charts show or what’s up and what’s down. All that matters; is that I am obeying God and following through, with the work that He has for me to do.
You know…it’s so easy to find ourselves in a downward fall…just by following the traditions of this world. Today, we need to realize that God is all we need and when we are following His desires and will for our lives; then everything else is going to just fall into place.
We need to come to the realization today; that the only One, who is going to satisfy the deep longing in our heart, is God. When we are willing to lay aside our own thoughts on life and quit following the way that other people live and focus only on God; that is when we will truly find contentment and peace.
There’s a song that goes a little like this… “No one understands like Jesus, when the days are dark and grim; no one is so near, so dear as Jesus, cast your every care on Him.” I have come to see that when we do only the things that God asks of us, while leaving the rest with Him; that is when we will always find ourselves in sync with the One, who can truly make all things, work out for our good.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
