Hello everyone! Happy Friday! Welcome to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad you’re here today and I pray that you will truly feel the presence of God while you’re here…a presence that can bring eternal peace and a strength that can keep you standing, through the difficult times.
Isn’t it something how we can become sidetracked from God? A situation happens and before we know it…we end up on some detour road with a problem and all we know is that we are lost and alone, with a problem that seems to want to lead us further down this unknown road.
You know…one thing I tend to hear a lot of, are words that say… “Just move on and forget about it and everything will be alright.” My first response to this is… “No, it won’t be alright…that is until the problem is dealt with and we’re back on the right path again with God.”
Being sidetracked from God is bad enough; but to just ignore the problem and try to move on by ourselves is not the right answer to this problem. First off…we must remember that God is the only One who knows the right way back and second…when we try to ignore the problem and not deal with it; then matters either seem to get worse, as we become more lost and alone within the problem or we bury the problem so deep; that it ends up becoming a clutter; that seems to overtake the heart; so there’s no room for God to work.
When I was around 5 years old, I was sexually molested by my grandfather. For about 27 years of my life, I buried these painful moments deep within my heart. As I look back, I always wished that I would have been able to open up about it because as the years passed by…the deep hurt and pain from the past began to build up, until it exploded within the heart. It took me a lot of counseling and most of all a God, who could love, understand and care for me during those difficult times. One thing I truly came to see through it all; was that I could have never found my way back without God.
You know…many times we don’t want to admit that we have a problem…let alone admit that we might have also gotten sidetracked from God. It seems like we as humans want to avoid everything that makes us feel pain and deep heartache; but we need to realize that when we leave a problem unresolved within our lives; then we find that we have to also lead an artificial life, to keep the problem covered up, which is only the problems way of controlling us.
God knows that there will be times, when our problems get us sidetracked and off the beaten path with Him; but He also wants us to know that He is here for us and that there is a way to come back to Him and the path He longs for us to follow…the only thing we need to do; is let Him do it His way. When we choose to let God lead the way; then He will not only bring us back, to where we belong with Him; but He will also show us new things along the way; that can strengthen us and help us from getting sidetracked again.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
