Hello everyone! Happy Monday and a big welcome to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad to have you with me today and my prayer for you; is that you will find God to be your closest companion, as you walk throughout this brand new week!
As we start a new week, we think about all that needs to be done and what we will need, for the week ahead; but do we ever stop to think; that the most important thing we need in our week is God? We can easily find ourselves leaving Him behind; that is until we face a problem; then these difficult moments become a quick reminder to us; that we have unknowingly left God out of our day.
I have to admit one thing…this past week, I have had battles with Satan; that I have not faced, in such a long time. I guess he saw how tired I was and the pain I was experiencing in my body; so he took advantage of these moments and saw me as a wounded animal…someone to prey on. It’s so amazing to me how we can have a powerful God living within us; but yet we tend to go with the flow, of everything Satan is doing…never stopping to think that with one cry for help…God can be there in an instant to release the grip that Satan has on us.
Today, I was listening to an old hymn that goes like this… “I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord; no tender voice like thine, can peace afford. I need thee, oh, I need thee, every hour I need thee! Oh, bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee. I need thee every hour; stay thou nearby; temptations lose their power, when thou art nigh. I need thee, oh, I need thee; every hour I need thee! Oh, bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee. I need thee every hour, in joy or pain; come quickly and abide, or life is vain. I need thee, oh, I need thee; every hour I need thee! Oh, bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee!
Just think…when temptation is weighing heavily upon our hearts…just the presence of God alone, can release the evil that’s taking hold on us…and when we are in pain or no matter what we feel for the moment; God becomes that close friend, who can be there for us; at the moment when we need Him the most.
I don’t know about you; but I can’t begin my day without inviting God into it. When I know that we have entered the day together; then I know that He will be there, for every little thing I face…and when evil has a grip on me; God will be close by; to keep me strong and allow me to stand under the toughest times.
You know…we all have a tendency to get busy and wrapped up in a day; but I truly believe that the moment, when we come to see God as someone, who can help us to survive and weather the storms of this life; then we will never leave Him behind; but rather, we will always be leaning on Him, as we walk through each day of the week!
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
