Hello everyone! Happy Monday and welcome today, to Moments Spent with God…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I pray that your week is off to a good start and that you will truly experience God, as you walk through each day of your week!
The other day, I was talking with someone that I have known, throughout at least half of the 15 years that I’ve served God and we were talking about this protest that has taken place with NFL. Anyways…he was stating his opinions and I was stating God’s opinion on several different topics that we were discussing at the time…and as we continued our short visit…one thing I picked up on; was that he was swaying back and forth with His opinions. In other words, He was agreeing to only part of what I was saying, rather than either going one way or the other.
Later, as I thought on our conversation…God began to show me, how important it is; that we don’t become tossed in the wind, with our thinking. In Ephesians 4:14, we read… “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;”
You know…one thing that truly stuck with me after our conversation; is that our own opinions can often be the open door, for Satan to step in and lead us in a direction that takes us further away from God…especially when our opinions don’t always line up with God’s truth. Before we know it…our opinions, rather than God’s truth begins to lead us into a worldly way of thinking and before we know it, we become so wrapped up in these moments; that they begin to lead us down a different path in life…a path that keeps us distant from God.
Today, we need to realize that everything we pursue in life should remain in sync with God’s word and most of all His truth…for its God’s truth that keeps us free, from the deceptive ways of Satan. When we choose to walk in God’s ways, rather than what we always think is right; then we will always remain in line with God…where it will be that much harder for Satan to have control over our lives.
Have you ever thought; that just maybe God isn’t working in our lives because we are too caught up in ourselves and a worldly way of perceiving life? One thing I’m learning more and more; is that life should never be about us, as Christians; but rather, our lives should always be about God and what He truly desires, for each of us.
This past weekend, I was caught up in a Bible verse, from Matthew 7:21, which reads… “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Today, can we say that we are following after the will of God and truly pursuing a life that will eventually walk us into heaven or are we so caught up in what we think; that we have completely bypassed God altogether?
No matter what we face in life…it’s God, whom we should always seek after; for He has the answers and the words of truth that can free us, from these forms of bondage; that Satan places us in. When we choose to go in God’s direction, rather than our own; then we will always find ourselves on a fragrant pathway…that will always lead us to His very best.
Blessings on your day!
