Hello everyone and welcome back to Moments Spent with God! I pray that your week is off to a great start and that we all will truly experience a special touch from God…through each word He gives us today!
As I’ve been sitting here…listening to some great music, I was thinking that it would be nice to just focus on heaven today. You know…it seems like we spend so much time focusing on everything that goes wrong around us; that we tend to forget where these difficult moments are leading us.
Throughout the past years of my life, I have come to see the difficult moments and even the moments I have overcome with God’s help, as stepping stones; that are slowly taking me…step by step towards heaven.
You know…it’s so easy for us to become caught up, in where the problem is leading us; that we can come to believe that we won’t make it to heaven. These difficult moments we face can actually make us feel, as if we are about to go over a cliff to total destruction and the reason we may feel this way at times; is because we become too caught up in the symptoms of the problem; that before we know it, we are feeling ourselves being drawn in their direction, rather than the direction that can take us one step closer to heaven.
You know…when we think back to characters in the Bible, like Jeremiah…Joseph…Moses and many more; we see how they always struggled through life and especially at the times, when God had called them to do great things for Him; but in the end, we also see how these moments they walked through brought them closer to God, with a greater strength.
A good question to ask ourselves today; is why are we working so hard to fashion our lives after the world’s expectations and why do we put so much into our problems, rather than seeing the reason behind them…the reason that God has allowed them to enter our lives? Don’t we realize that what we see as defeat…despair and destruction; is actually an opportunity for new strength…new growth and a way of allowing God to draw us closer to Him?
One thing I can say today; is that Paul (in the Bible) has been of great inspiration to me because he never focused on the things that were coming against him; but rather he set his focus on the prize before him, which was God and Heaven. No matter what came his way, his eyes remained focused on where his God was leading him. Can we say that we are doing the same or are we allowing evil to take us in a different direction…to a place where we may even want to give up on life?
As we walk through each day of our lives, we may experience moments of sunshine but there may also be moments of rain; but no matter what we experience, God is using every moment in our lives, to keep us going in His direction. For each trial we overcome; these difficult moments have now taken us one step closer to Heaven…that is, if we are willing to allow God to use our trials in this way.
No matter what you may face in life, just know that God can make a way for you and once you choose to let Him do that in your life; you will find later that these moments that once seemed so difficult, have now lead you one step closer, to a life eternal with God.
Have a great day & God bless ALWAYS!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…Diane
