Hello everyone! Welcome today, to Moments Spent with God! I am so glad you came to join me and my prayer today; is that we will truly come to connect with God even more…especially while walking through the tough times of life!
You know…sometimes it’s not always easy to understand God’s ways. I don’t know about you but I can find it confusing at times, as to whether God is allowing a trial to enter my life, for a specific reason or if it is just a full blown attack from Satan.
Over the weekend, I was facing a trying time in my life; so I took some of my Saturday evening and spent it alone with God, which is the best thing to do when you’re hurting. Anyways…while I was online…listening to some music and relaxing; God led me to a website, where I listened to a pastor talk on this subject, for about 40 minutes.
As I listened intensely, to what this pastor was talking about; I began to see how Satan can only afflict us, when He has God’s permission. If you remember in the book of Job; God and Satan were having a conversation about Job’s life. In verses 9-12, of Job chapter 1, it says… “Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. (10)"Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. (11)But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face." (12)The Lord said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.”
You know…there can be times, when we truly feel as if evil is going to win…just by what we see and experience. One thing we need to remember; is that even though God gives Satan permission to afflict us, for a reason that we may not always understand…God is still in control of what Satan is doing, which should give us hope.
It doesn’t matter if God is allowing a trial to enter our life for a particular reason or whether Satan is just attempting to bring us low…God has control over it all. What amazes me the most; is how Satan sees the control God has but yet he is still persistent, as he attempts to claim our soul and this is one of the reasons why we need to be strong in the Lord, while facing these difficult moments of weakness.
I truly believe that when are eyes are open to a truth, such as this one; then we will be more secure in the knowledge; that our God does have everything under control. I think sometimes, we just need to slow down and come to grips with reality, instead of what is attempting to have control over our lives.
I don’t know about you but I’m so glad that I have a God in my life that can supersede all things…especially the power over evil.
May God truly bless your day, with His loving and powerful presence!
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
