Hello everyone & a big welcome back to Moments Spent with God! I am so…so happy to have you with me, as we begin another new week together! My prayer today; is that we will discover God to be much greater than the circumstances that stand before us.
I don’t know about you but I had a great weekend of rest and time alone with God! As I laid down, for an afternoon nap over the weekend, I looked up to a very special picture that I have on my office wall of Jesus and I said… “Lord, I give everything to you, while I rest.” As I began to close my eyes, I knew without a doubt; that God would be there to watch over everything concerning this ministry.
Do we truly recognize God as someone who is strong enough to handle anything in our lives or are we afraid to test the waters with God? You know…it’s so easy to speak words that say… “Lord, I give my life and my problems to you;” but while we are reaching out to Him, can we say that we have truly let go of everything that seems to be weighing us down?
You know…our problems can make us feel as if we are lost within a troubled sea. We can find it so easy to get caught up in what is happening around us; that we completely lose sight of God. As we walk through these difficult times…it seems like every thought goes through our minds…thoughts that make us wonder if these trouble waters will overtake us or if the weight of our problem will take us down for good. Once our thoughts go in this direction…before we know it, we become convinced that we aren’t going to make it through the storm.
I remember a time, when I felt as though I was in this stormy sea. Satan had pushed me into these troubled waters and for quite some time, I became focused on the waves that surrounded me. There were times, when the waves of my problems stood so tall; that I thought that one of them would take me down for good. It seemed like my attention became so caught up, in what I was experiencing and what could have happened; that my faith went down into the troubled waters with me.
Today, we need to ask ourselves a couple of questions. Do we truly know that God is there for us? Do we know within our hearts that God will be there to take over for us, as we let go of each need? If not; then we need to begin anew.
You know…it’s not always easy to let go of something that can bring fear and the unknown into our lives. These difficult moments have a way of convincing us that we will never escape them and as long as we continue to believe what they are conveying to us; we will only find ourselves struggling needlessly, in these troubled waters.
I truly believe that once we come to know God, for who He really is and not just for what we think He is; that is when our faith will lift us out of these troubled times. Today, we need to lift our heads up to God and once we look above the troubled waters, rather than into them; that is when our hearts will be lifted up and away from the burdens that attempted to take us down for good.
Have a great day & God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
