Hello everyone! I hope and pray that your week is off to a great start and that you will truly experience the presence of God throughout your week! You know…today, I’ve been thinking on how time changes things. Life can seem like the sun will shine forever and those we love and care about will never go away; but then a time comes, when the sun begins to go behind the clouds and people leave our lives, to never return again. Moments like these have a way of making us wonder what happened; but I have come to see that it’s only because God is at work and this is His way of loving us. Just as cloud formations can change and the warm, sunny days of summer can change to cold and dormant days of winter; so must our lives change.
As of this year, I have been serving God for 15 years. I have seen people come and go and sometimes this can be difficult because in some small way I become attached to those that God allows to cross my path. I remember a time, when God used me to encourage someone, who was giving up on life and we would email and talk on the phone, for the longest time; that is until God used His words of encouragement to heal that person. As we parted, I had found out that I had emailed this person 100 times. Now, I no longer hear from this person and this person has gone on to live their life, in the way that God had intended. Even though it can be difficult at times, to see someone leave…moments like these make me happy because I see how God has truly worked through me, to keep someone free from the clutches of evil.
You know…we can live our lives for the longest time, with no problems…pain or heartache and then one day…out of the blue, life seems to change, as something begins to take over and make our lives seem, as though we will never enjoy life again. Maybe the dreams we had for so long, have now become shattered dreams or maybe the life that once was free from pain, is now racked with pain. No matter what it may be; moments like these can make life much more difficult to bear.
Isn’t it amazing, how we get caught up in the feelings of change; that we completely bypass a God that is at work within our lives. No matter how our lives change from day to day; it’s only because of a God that is in the background of our lives…working to complete the plan He had for our lives, since the day we were born.
When we think about it…change shouldn’t be a time of hurt and disappointment but rather, change should be a time, when we anticipate God’s next move. Maybe our lives have gone from better to worse; but that may be only because God is getting ready to give us something greater…something that will show us that He is in charge…something that will help us to connect more deeply with Him, rather than ourselves.
Today, if we would only turn our thinking around and not allow these sad feelings of change to have control over our lives; then I think that we would come to see these moments of change, as something that is helping us to live more for God, rather than ourselves.
Have a great day and may God truly bless your day with His loving presence!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
