Hello everyone and welcome back to “Moments Spent with God!” I am so happy to be back with you today and I thank you so much for your prayers and your patience, while I was laid up with a bad cold over this past week. It’s only by God’s grace; that we overcome these difficult times and I know without a doubt that He was the One, who carried me through these moments!
As I’ve been sitting here…thinking back over this past week, I remember moments, when I just wanted the sickness to leave my body, so I could get back to my work; but as one day of illness led to another, I came to see that it would be my faith in God; that would help me to walk further and further away from these difficult times.
You know…we can experience moments in our lives, when we are just so sick of the pain…illness…deep heartache or even the bad days we experience. I’m sure that there are times, when we just want to close our eyes and open them up to something better; but that doesn’t always happen at the time we want it to happen.
One thing I have come to see; is that God’s timing makes everything perfect. Even though the days and nights of affliction can seem long; He does have a way of walking us out of them…a way that can help us to learn and grow in His grace, as we walk through each difficult moment.
Maybe the problem we are experiencing; is that we are too busy wishing that these moments would disappear, rather than looking at what God is up to, as He walks us from one step into another. While I was laid up this past week, I began to get caught up in the illness at first; that is, until I began to see that things weren’t going to turn around, until God was ready for them to turn around. One thing I can say; is that through the long days of illness…I did learn to focus more clearly on God. Isn’t it amazing how God uses a difficult moment in our lives, to gently remind us of things that we may have gotten away from? Look at it this way…this is God’s way of loving us, as He uses each difficult moment, to draw us closer to Him.
If we could only look at our circumstances through God’s eyes, rather than looking deeply into the face of the problem; then I truly believe that hope would spring alive within us. The other day, Keith and I were having a talk on trusting God and you know…it’s so easy to say… “I trust you Lord;” but if we were to look beyond the words we speak, would we see that we are truly placing our trust in God. I have come to see that true trust in God, is saying… “Ok Lord, I have seen you bring me through this and this and this; so if you were there for me at those times; then I know that you will be there once more.” In other words, we come to a place, where we know without a doubt that God won’t let us down and that we can truly trust Him with our lives.
Maybe it’s time to stop running ahead of God and begin to walk in sync with Him. When we can get our focus on what He’s up to, rather than what is going wrong in our lives; then just maybe, we would find that we can walk out of these circumstances, in a much easier way…learning and growing, as we go along.
Today, I pray that we all will come to focus on God, rather than the problems that attempt to have control over our lives!
Blessings on your day…
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
