Hello everyone! Welcome today, to Moments Spent with God! I am so glad that you stopped by for a visit and I invite you to come back anytime and enjoy more of what God lays upon my heart to write! As we prepare to begin another new week, my prayer is that we will truly trust God enough, to walk through one day at a time with Him!
For the longest time, I have come to see my Sunday afternoons, as a special gift from God! This is a time, when I lay down for about three hours and sleep. Yesterday, as I was resting…I must have slept for about an hour and a half and then I was suddenly awakened by thoughts that caught me by surprise…thoughts that were leading me down an unknown path…pertaining to things that hadn’t even taken place yet. I knew that Satan was up to no good, so I got up…got away from the thoughts and went outside with my husband and rested on the patio.
As I’ve been thinking on this, I have come to see how easily we can get caught up in moments that haven’t even come to pass. One thing we must remember; is that God is in charge of these unknown moments that lie ahead of us and He will not allow us to walk through moments, where He doesn’t have control over the situation.
Isn’t it amazing how Satan uses our thoughts, to try and convince us of the very worst…before anything even happens? The thoughts that he implants within our minds can take us down a road that leads to anxiety…fear and doubt and he can make these thoughts seem so real, as if this is exactly what is about to take place.
One thing we must remember today; is that God holds the reins to our lives…not Satan and even though Satan may attempt to side track us through our thoughts; that doesn’t mean that what he’s attempting to convince us of, will actually come to pass.
Have you ever had a moment in your life, when you worried and worried about something that was on your mind; but yet it never happened? These are the moments, when we fall prey to Satan’s deceitful ways, rather than placing our full trust, in a God who already knows about these unknown moments ahead of us.
You know…God is showing me more and more; that we need to walk in His footprints every day, rather than allowing our thoughts to take us off on some detour road; that only leads us to more anxiety…worry…doubt and fear. If we could only live in the moments that stand before us; then we would not only be walking in sync with God; but we would also find ourselves experiencing more peace.
In Matthew 6:34, we read… “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Jesus is actually helping us to see how important it is, to just live one day at a time. Like the Bible verse says… “Each day has enough trouble…” In other words…why add to what we are already facing? I truly believe that these words were given to us all, as a means of experiencing a sustaining power that could keep us at Jesus’ level, rather than a level that would take us out of control and make us more vulnerable to evil.
Today, I pray that we will only focus on what stands before us and leave the uncertain moments, in the hand of the One, who already knows what lies ahead of us!
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
