Hello everyone! It’s so good to have you with me today, on Moments Spent with God! I pray that as we begin this brand new week; that we will find the strength to remain committed to God…no matter what may come our way!
How many times, have we attempted to walk out of our problems on our own? Instead of waiting on God, we turn inwardly to our own ideas, of how we can quickly resolve the problem…only to find out later; that these moments only bring more sorrow and deep heartache within our lives.
You know… it’s so easy to sit and go over and over the problem…thinking that maybe we should do this or follow through with that; but then later, all we find is that these ideas come crashing down before us, while leaving us at a place, where we first began with the problem.
Waiting on God can sometimes be the hardest thing to do. There may be times, when we don’t have to wait long, while other times, it seems as though the waiting goes on and on, with no end in sight. We don’t seem to stop and think that God has a time frame, in all He is purposing within our lives; so we attempt to take it on ourselves…thinking that we can escape these painful moments much quicker…when that is just not the way it works.
A few days ago, I was reading a sermon, from a pastor who was speaking on Psalm 13, which has been one of my favorites, while walk through difficult times. Anyways, he was talking on the lives of 3 characters from the Bible…Joseph…Paul and David and do you realize what each one of these men had to go through, before reaching the place where God longed for them to be?
In Joseph’s life, he had to walk through months of slavery…beatings and imprisonment, before God used these moments, to bring him to the place, where he would become a ruler over Egypt. In David’s life…he lived in caves, while Saul continued to live as a king in a palace…even after Samuel had anointed David as the true king…and Paul went to Rome, with a hunger in his heart to serve God, only to find himself in prison, due to a false charge.
After spending some very special time alone with God over the weekend; God has gently reminded me that sometimes, the obstacles that seem to prevent us from experiencing a good life can often be what leads us, to where God longs for us to be. Maybe He’s using these difficult steps in life to prepare us for something great or maybe there is a weakness or flaw within our lives that needs to be strengthened. No matter what it may be; these aren’t the moments, when we should throw our hands up in the air and walk away. Instead, we should be like Paul and keep our eyes focused on the prize and follow David’s example and trust God…no matter how life appears to be, while knowing in our hearts like Joseph; that God will never be defeated within our lives.
Today, may we find the strength to wait on God, as He leads us to the true purpose He has for each of our lives!
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
