Hello everyone! Today, I would like to welcome you to Moments Spent with God! I am so glad to be back after the weekend and most of all, I am so happy to have you with me today! My prayer is that we will truly experience a special touch from God today, as we spend these very special moments alone with Him!
Lately, I have been facing some tough times in my life and over the weekend, I decided to get away from life and sit quietly alone with God. You know…I have found that when we take the time, to spend some quiet moments alone with God and share our every need with Him; that these moments not only relieve us of the burden we bear; but these moments also give us a chance to listen to the still small voice of God within us…the voice that can speak peace, in the midst of any storm.
Anyways…as I spent these quiet moments…pouring my heart out before God; He began to work with my heart and share something special with me…something that I had never thought of before and today, I would like to share what He laid upon my heart with you.
You know…I don’t know about you but I have experienced long and drawn out moments of trial; that makes a person wonder, if anything will ever go right. As I look back on my life, I have seen how almost everything that I held dear to my heart…had been stripped away from me. I know in my heart that God never allowed these moments to be taken away from me, as a means of torturing me; but instead, I have clearly seen, how each loving desire has been exchanged, for more of God’s presence in my life.
Anyways…recently, I have been struggling to keep my head above some troubled waters and as I sat in the presence of God…sobbing uncontrollably…He began to speak to my heart and share something very special with me; that would open my eyes and allow me to view my problems in a different light.
If you remember in the Bible…there was story of a man named Lazarus and he was a good friend of Jesus. One day he became deathly ill and his sisters…Martha and Mary had called out to Jesus…asking Him to come and heal their brother. Instead of Jesus coming quickly; He held back for several days and by time He had reached them…Lazarus had been dead for about 4 days and his body was already decomposing. Martha and Mary said to Jesus…if you would have been here…our brother wouldn’t have died. Instead of seeing Jesus as a powerful god that could do anything…anytime, they began to view the circumstance, by what they were seeing before them. Later, Jesus not only brought Lazarus back to life…but in a very powerful way.
You know…we all face moments that appear to be defeated and we can experience times, when we feel that nothing will ever turn around for the good again; but that is only because we are looking at the problem, by what stands before us. We need to remember that there are no limitations with God and He can turn the worst moments around…anytime and in any way that He so chooses.
The one thing that God made clear to me over the weekend; is that when we are crying out to God for help but for some reason He seems to be holding back and not answering our prayers; that doesn’t mean that He has forsaken us; but rather, it may just mean that He is getting ready to reveal His power to us and others, in a very real way. Just like Jesus held back with Lazarus…until the time came when his body was already decomposing; so Jesus’ mighty power could be seen…that just may be what He’s doing within our own lives.
No matter how long a trial may seem…we need to remember that first, God is not a defeated God and second, we need to remember that we must not look at how the problem appears before us because we serve a powerful God…that is more than capable of delivering us and when His timing comes into play; that is the time, when we will see how powerful of a God He can truly be within our lives.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
