Hello everyone! I would like to begin by wishing you all a very blessed Thanksgiving, from my home to yours! For those who are alone in this world today, just know that I am thinking of you and praying that you would truly feel the loving presence of God within your home!
You know…it’s so easy to get wrapped up in the holiday of Thanksgiving, with all the food…family and friends but in my home, Keith and I will be taking the time to thank God, for all He has and is doing within our lives.
Over the past years…God has walked Keith and I through some difficult valleys but one thing I have come to see, while walking through these valleys; is that these are the moments, when we tend to grasp or take hold onto new things…things that can keep us climbing that staircase that will eventually walk us right into heaven.
When I think of Thanksgiving, I don’t think about what I have but I look at how far God has brought me with Him because you see, the material things I have are only temporal but the further I go with God…the closer I will be to a place, where there will never be any more pain…heartache or suffering again.
You know…it’s good to be thankful for the home we have or the food that is on our table but I have come to see that having a thankful heart goes much deeper. When I look back on this past year, I see a woman that no longer cares about what she has to eat or what she has to wear. Instead, I see a woman who has come to see; that these material things in life don’t mean as much to her, as what she first thought. This woman has come to understand what it’s like to have little and she has come to appreciate life much more because of moments such as these.
If you were to ask me what I am the most thankful for, it wouldn’t be the material things in life but rather, I would have to dig deeper within the heart and share all the valuable lessons learned, over this past year because you see, this is what continually draws me closer, to a God that I will meet someday and just knowing that I will meet my best friend soon…means more to me; then anything this world could ever offer me.
There may be some of you today, who won’t be with family and friends and there may be others, who are in the hospital or laid up at home. Maybe you lost your job or maybe you are just struggling financially and there won’t be any special dinner this year. Just remember one thing…Thanksgiving Day isn’t about the food but rather a heart of thanksgiving and if you can find one special thing in your life today, to be thankful for; then you have already had the best Thanksgiving Day ever.
Have a great day with God!
Blessings on your day…
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
