Hello everyone and a big welcome to Moments Spent with God! I am so glad that you came to share some special moments with God and me today! I pray that God will continue to teach us new things that will keep us pressing on…especially during the difficult times!
Yesterday was quite a different day for me. I woke up…thinking that I would be working on a video for the ministry, which I was really excited about and I don’t know what happened from there. It seemed like all my thoughts were immediately taken away from the video, so I could work on a problem I was having with the website. From there, one thing after another continued to go wrong and I have to admit that it would have been a lot easier to just turn the computer off and escape these moments; but God continued to walk me through each situation…so I continued to press on with His help.
Later, I decided to take a shower and get away from my work and as I was getting around for the evening, I found myself asking for nothing but God’s peace. I guess I figured that God’s peace would just about cover everything that seemed out of sort, at the time.
After getting around, I headed back in my office for a second round of work…with a determination to not give up. As I was finishing for the day, God began to show me; that it’s not about the bad moments we face throughout the day; but actually it’s how we come through the bad moments of a day that counts.
How many times do we find ourselves deeply focused on all that’s gone wrong in a day? Can you imagine what it would be like, if we could just see how we escaped these moments, with God’s help, rather than why the day went so wrong?
One thing I have come to see within my own life; is how easily we can allow Satan to keep his plan working and alive within us…just by focusing on every detail of the problem. The way I see it; is that for every thought that keeps us tightly focused on what is going wrong around us; actually becomes an open door, for Satan to step in and continually have his way with us. Don’t we realize that when we respond to life’s problems in this way; that we are actually allowing evil to have preeminence over our lives, rather than God?
Yesterday, I came to see that when we give praise to our moments of defeat, by the way we react to them…rather than to a God who brought us through those difficult moments; then we are actually allowing Satan to win the battle that he first began within us.
If we are ever going to prove to Satan that he cannot win these battles; then first, we need to find a reason to praise God…even in the midst of what may be going wrong at the time. When we can look for the good that is rising up from the bad; then these thoughts of praise will bring evil to its knees.
Today, I pray that we will be able to rise above the despair in our lives and focus on a God who is working to deliver us, from these moments that can make us feel so defeated.
Blessings on your day…
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
