Hello everyone! Welcome today, to Moments Spent with God! I am so glad that you came to join me today and my prayer is that we will truly experience the power of a God, who will always remain undefeated in our lives!
As I’ve been sitting here…talking with God and relaxing…and seeking the best He can offer me, through my writing today; He began to show me how easily we take Him for granted. You know…it’s so easy to say…I know that Bible verse…or…I remember that story in the Bible; but have we become so familiar with these thoughts and words; that life with God has just become an everyday thing…where we begin to think of God, as less than who He really is?
There are times, when I stare out my window, while writing or doing ministry work and as I sit there quietly watching nature, I see the clouds moving by my window and there have even been times, when I actually watched the wind slowly go through each tree in its path. I stop and I think…who else could make everything work in harmony, like God can.
You know…when we get too familiar with God; then we find that we put expectations on Him, rather than following behind Him…to anticipate His every move. To me…God has always been mysterious in His ways. It seems like what I expect to happen at times, becomes something completely different and that’s because He’s in control…not me.
How often do we take the time in a day, to just observe God’s powerful hand at work? I remember a time, when I was having a rough day. It was in the early spring, when the leaves on the trees were budding and as I looked back to the big maple tree in the yard, I began to think to myself…isn’t it amazing how such a huge leaf can come out of such a small bud. After thinking on this for a moment or two; I began to see my problem as nothing to God.
You know…so many times, we can easily become so accustomed to God; that we find our lives becoming drab and the excitement we once felt for Him, begins to fizzle out. We find ourselves losing hope in Him and there can even be times, when we doubt Him and wonder if He has abandoned us.
Sometimes, we just need to begin anew and allow ourselves to be reconnected to God…in a way that can bring everything alive within us once more. Life definitely has a way of taking us down; but when our thoughts are completely focused…not only on God but the power that lives within Him; then hope will always stay alive within us.
Today, I pray that we all will truly come to see God…as not only God; but as the most powerful being…the One who can do all things and never fail!
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
