Hello everyone! Welcome today, to Moments Spent with God! I’m so glad that you stopped by and my prayer is that we will truly find hope, during the difficult hours of need!
You know…today, I was thinking on the different ways we can experience loss in our lives. We can experience loss through a death in the family or we can experience loss, as we have to learn to give up something in our lives. Another form of loss; is when others walk away from us because they either can’t understand what we’re going through or because they just don’t want to deal with whatever we may be going through at the time.
No matter what form of loss we may experience; these difficult moments seem to take the heart on a downward plunge, as we begin to feel alone and forsaken by life itself. Our minds seem to drift off into a world of hopelessness, while an empty space is left behind.
I don’t know what you may be going through in your own life; but I have had a taste of loss many times…the loss that made me give up everything that was dear to me, due to a health problem…the loss of children…and the loss of those, who just didn’t want to deal with some painful issues from the past.
For the longest time, I knew that God could fill those empty voids in my life; but it was just a few days ago; that I posted a quote on Twitter; that even surprised myself…and it reads… “Loss isn't a sign of defeat; but rather loss becomes an empty space, for God to move in and do something great.”
Sometimes I think that God allows something to move out of our lives; so He can move in…in a much greater way. At the time, when we feel as if the moments of loss could devastate our lives; God seems to step in and fill those empty moments with something that becomes satisfying to the soul.
You know…it’s so easy to want to give into these moments of loss and allow them to take us down to a place, where all we do is give up and sit hopelessly alone, within the muck and mire of the problem; but I have learned that this isn’t what God desires. Instead, He longs for us to look for what’s next, rather than what has just walked out of our lives.
Today, you may be experiencing some form of loss in your life and you’re feeling empty and alone. Just turn to God…He’s longing so much to move in and fill those empty voids with His loving presence. When we are willing to look beyond the moments of loss, for the best that God longs to give us; then life won’t seem so empty, while a peace begins to move in and replace the painful moments…brought about by loss.
May God truly be everything you ever needed today!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
